More fun with the #NikonP610  , this time on the wide end :)
We are in the season of nor'westers which bring in strong winds and there is a great amount of lightening and thunder activity towards nightfall. This is the sky today.

Today's moon
The great thing about the new #nikonP610  is the reach. And for distant objects that reach means a lot of fun :)
I had a great time shooting the moon today at 1440mm. Have a look.

Here is a link to a image-heavy story that I wrote on Maptia.
I find +Maptia a refreshing medium to share such stories. Possible that I will do more of these in the days to come.
Have a look if you have the time. :)

More with the #NikonP610
My neighbourhood Common Tailorbird this time!
While the camera is no DSLR killer, it may be adequate for the times when carrying the DSLR kit is inconvenient.

Indian Roller
On a completely fogged out morning. You can see that the thick forest is barely visible behind the bird.

The Last Dregs
This man, having his morning tea, was shot with my newest toy - a Nikon Coolpix P610. It is a bridge camera with a small sensor but the zoom stretches to 1440mm! I bought it to learn more about compact super zooms and also to record distant birds.
But there were no birds around this morning - only people.

My second story on Maptia. I find the site useful to string together a bunch of topical images that would otherwise hold little meaning. Supposedly a four minute read, but image heavy.
The Durga Puja festival in Kolkata, India, is a great spectacle, and a celebration of the beauty and sprit of women!
