Coming at you!- This image is from a rare sight of a pride of 15 lions we saw one afternoon in Okavango Delta. The king of the pride was standing about 100 meters away from our open 4WD car, when suddenly he started coming towards us. I started shooting with my 80-400 mm lens at 400 mm, and as the lion was coming to me I was keep zooming out until I finally realised the lens couldn't focus any more because the subject was closer than 2 meters. I quickly put down my camera and picked up my second one with a 18-200 mm lens on it, and continue shooting. The impressive male lion passed by just about 50 cm away from me, marked the back right tyre by urinating it, and then slowly walked away towards the rest of the pride. What a sight, pure adrenaline!
Lion (Panthera leo), the king of the African carnivores, eats everything from tortoises to giraffes. When prey is plentiful, it spends 20 hours per day conserving energy, becoming active in early afternoon and late at night. Lion roars to announce its presence and hearing its roar, which can reach a distance of 8 km, is one of Africa’s most unforgettable experiences.Lion (Panthera leo), Moremi Wildlife Reserve, Okavango Delta, Botswana, Africa
