STONE ISLAND_PROTOTYPE RESEARCH_SERIES 02_ GARMENT DYED DYNEEMA®
LIMITED EDITION
http://bit.ly/2owWA80

Second drop of Prototype Research Series, a native limited editions project. Garments made in fabrics and treatments born from research and experimentation processes, that have not yet been industrialized.
SERIES 02_GARMENT DYED DYNEEMA® is a reversible jacket made in the strongest and most durable lightweight fibre in the world.
The result is a super light yet extremely tough Dyneema® flexible composite fabric with increased tear, puncture and abrasion performance.
STONE ISLAND has engineered a ready to dye version by bonding it to an exclusive performance membrane with an ultra-light nylon tela backing.
The garments are cut and sewn, the seams are entirely sealed by hand with Dyneema® re-enforced tapes.
Before the garment dyeing procedure the jackets have to rest one week to allow the correct polymerization of the tapes.
One side shows the Dyneema® face, the other side shows the ultra-light nylon tela which takes the dye colour as do all the other nylon components of the piece.
The limited edition jackets - 2 series of 50 pieces - are then garment dyed with 50 colour recipes in the STONE ISLAND Colour Laboratory.

Available in medium, large and extra-large, starting from Wednesday, 26 April, from 4pm CET on stoneisland.com. In the U.K. on stoneisland.co.uk (3pm GMT), in North America on Stone Island App (10am EST).

The video documents the places where the project has come to life.
The journey begins in the Dyneema® Production Facility in Arizona, where the fibre turns into a not woven fabric. Then, in Italy at the Stone Island Headquarters in Ravarino, near Modena, where the jacket is manufactured and undergoes the garment dyed process in the Colour Laboratory. Finally, the installation during the Milano Design Week 2017.

Realizzato in tre taglie: M, L e XL. In vendita in esclusiva su stoneisland.com da mercoledì 26 aprile a partire dalle ore 16:00. In Gran Bretagna su stoneisland.co.uk e in Nord America su Stone Island App

42950 DAVID-TC WITH DUST COLOUR TREATMENT
Jacket in David-TC. Beginning with a Japanese star-shaped cross-section polyester/polyamide substrate, garments in David-TC are sewn and then simultaneously garment dyed and treated with an anti-drop agent. During the garment's pressure dyeing at 130° C, the heat radically transforms the structure and hand of the material. The resulting garments combine an appearance that is both industrial and luxurious with a unique feel. Successive Dust Colour treatment deposits further unique and unrepeatable colour shadings on the surface of the garment for a three-dimensional effect.

42950 DAVID-TC WITH DUST COLOUR TREATMENT
Giacca in David-TC.
