“If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live?”  ~ Albert Einstein

Arguably one of the most important things Highland Titles is doing at the moment, in conjunction with Plan Bee Ltd is helping educate our youngsters to understand the importance of honey bees.
Making it fun, letting them paint & adopt their own hive, and visiting it later in the year.
First hive back is from Kinlochleven Primary School. They chose the more difficult 'Scottish Authors' theme, and what an amazing job they made of it - absolutely fabulous!!

I'd never heard of Mobile Phones Direct until I watched this unboxing - great review by the way - and I headed over there straight away. Told them I saw it here too :)
Brilliant service, phone's arriving tomorrow - very speedy for us away up in the Highlands - take note other suppliers, use the Royal Mail and then you too can actually achieve next day deliveries :P

It's quite frustrating, when you are digging out for a path you hope for a good solid base of rock but when you are taking out a wee bit of hill to extend the car park you hope for soil - no chance! pneumatic pecker on ;)

Millions of bees dropped dead after GMO corn was planted few weeks ago in Ontario, Canada. The local bee keeper, Dave Schuit who produces honey in Elmwood lost about 37 million bees which are about 600 hives.

“Once the corn started to get planted our bees died by the millions,” Schuit said. While many bee keepers blame neonicotinoids, or “neonics.” for colony collapse of bees and many countries in EU have banned neonicotinoid class of pesticides, the US Department of Agriculture fails to ban insecticides known as neonicotinoids, manufactured by Bayer CropScience Inc.

This time of year, it is hard to ignore the fact that our days have been getting shorter, while our nights have lengthened. The brevity of our days serves to remind us that the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, was today.
Completing today's last buggy tour with the headlamps on was a dead give away too :D
