Meet Ivan, Success Stories Semi Finalist. Before the start of his journey, Ivan’s last ‘skinny’ photo was taken in the first grade. In the last 10 months, everything has changed: Ivan has lost over 50 pounds by sticking to a regular workout routine and healthy eating plan put together by his trainer Dayton at Steve Nash Sports Club Yaletown.

Put the (medicine) ball to the wall! These exercise balls can help improve muscular power and sports performance. The balls can be thrown and caught, making for explosive movements that can improve overall strength and athletic ability. They can also be used to add challenge to core workouts – mountain climbers on a medicine ball, anyone?

Medicine balls come in a variety of sizes and weights. Make sure you’re picking a ball that’s heavy enough to slow the motion, but not so heavy that your control or range of motion is compromised. Meet Ashley, Success Stories Semi Finalist.

In March 2015, an overweight and unhappy Ashley stepped foot in Steve Nash Fitness World Coquitlam and completely transformed her life. In just two years, she’s crushed her fitness goals of losing weight and gaining strength, and is now setting new goals as a bodybuilding competitor: “The gym is my happy place where I can put reality on hold for an hour or so – I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
