The only real problem I see in moving from drop box is that I have like 15gb of space on DB and only 5 on g drive. That's how google will win my support by rewarding their power users with more space.
 
So Steve. I am a little nervous. Google Drive is asking for system.privilege.admin on my Mac. Any idea what it wants to do to my poor laptop?
 
It wants to install itself as a daemon so it can monitor changes to the Google Drive folder and sync it with the cloud.
 
It seems like it should be able to do that without having admin permissions? Dropbox seems to work fine.
 
Dropbox doesn't require admin permissions to install a device driver? I'll bet it asked for the same permission long ago when you installed it and you just don't remember.
 
perhaps. I usually remember when something goes poking around like that.
