Quotle are either trying to be snobbish and elitist, have just lazy developers, or enjoy making what I consider a huge brand faux pas, and somewhat total dick move, of launching iOS only first.
So off to a wonderful start at alienating customers and allowing competitors to steal the largest platform from under them. The premise is a good one, but I can bet others are copying this for all platforms right now...
Yahoo! Mail Testing Out Blocking Access To Your Mail If You Run Ad Blockers.

The real question is, why the hell are you using Yahoo mail? Or for that matter your ISP? Why would you use mail services with ancient banner ads, terrible UX and be tied to your ISP? Get some Gmail going on 'Mr & Mrs Still Living in 1998' and ditch these appalling services or at least funnel them into Gmail and get a better start on your email address with no ads or blocking access.
