Dim Sum Sundays at Hakkasan Hanway Place

Want to indulge this weekend? Pop in for 'Dim Sum Sundays' - a weekly lunch event hosted by the lounge DJs until 5.45pm.

The signature menu costs £58 per person and includes six courses, a choice of cocktail, a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV Champagne, France 12% half bottle and a choice of after dinner cocktail.

Devour plates of Scallop shumai and Chinese chive dumpling with prawn and crabmeat, then Stir-fry black pepper rib eye beef with merlot and Fried aubergine and oyster mushroom.

Fire and Feathers launches tomorrow

Algarve-inspired piri-piri chicken is the mainstay of this new no-reservations restaurant in Fulham.

Following its pop-up debut at the Earl of Portobello pub, Fire and Feathers is going permanent with a no-bookings site on Fulham Road. Portuguese pir-piri chicken is the venue’s USP – a dish that the owner got hooked on during holidays in the Algarve. The kitchen will be using small, naturally reared British birds (slightly larger than your average poussin), which will be given the spatchcock treatment, cut into chunks and served on sharing plates with fiery piri-piri sauce.

Summer menu launches at Bumpkin

We've had a sneak peek at the new summer and healthy menus from Bumpkin South Kensington and they look super-delicious.

New starters from Executive Chef Raymond Fulton-Corrie include Asparagus, Truffle, Soft Poached Egg and Smoked Ham Hock Terrine, Crispy Crackling, Dill Pickles. Follow that with a summery dish of Line Caught Sea Bass, Braised Chicory, Fennel and Crab Salad or Roast Free Range Chicken Breast, Baked Jersey Royals and Mixed Beets. And dessert offers include Strawberries and Cream with Madeleines.

Bumpkin have also teamed up with 'Flexi Foodie' Julie Montagu - who is a health coach and wellness warrior. The healthy options on the menu include a Chopped Allotment Salad with grated horseradish and beetroot dressing as well as a range of hydraulic cold pressed juices like the Vitamin Booster; grapefruit, ginger and carrot and the Body Hydrate; packed with watermelon, cucumber and mint.

The menus will be available from 17 June. Tuck in!

Eat 17 comes to Clapton

The team behind the Walthamstow Spar foodie emporium, neighbouring Eat 17 bistro and cult condiment Eat 17 Bacon Jam are bringing their wares to up-and-coming Clapton with the launch of a new self-service burger bar and convenience store in what was Brooksbys Snooker Hall.

Restaurant Review: Lutyens

The City loves Lutyens – owned by supremo Sir Terence Conran – and we can see why. The former Reuters building makes a ravishing home for this high-ceilinged, art-deco-inspired foodie complex – and an imposing, ‘high-class’ backdrop for gatherings of all sorts. The bar and bistro work just fine for breakfast and low-key meetings, but when you mean business, you’ll need the sheer class and ‘faultless’ service of the restaurant. You should opt for oysters from the raw bar or an umami attack of asparagus, slow-poached egg, mousseron mushrooms and pork scratchings, before tackling a Dover sole or veal rib with new season’s garlic and Reform sauce– ‘no smears, no foams, no affectations’, just good food from a clever kitchen. The wine list is original, with the odd ‘trophy Latour’ alongside bottles from Croatia, Greece and even Luxembourg. In short, ‘a solid performer’.

New Brick Lane Mexican from Wahaca founders

Wahaca founders Thomasina Miers and Mark Selby have announced plans for a new restaurant on Brick Lane.

DF / Mexico will open in the Old Truman Brewery on 24 July and begin as an 18-month residency, though this may be extended.

The concept is born out of the pair’s recent road trip around Mexico and the United States and Mexican food with US twists will set the menu apart from more authentic Wahaca.

Heston Blumenthal launches at Heathrow

This morning saw the opening of Heathrow Airport’s all-new Terminal 2, and with it a host of restaurants including Heston Blumenthal’s latest venture The Perfectionists’ Café.

It takes inspiration from Blumenthal’s In Search of Perfection television programmes in which he used creative cooking techniques to create the ultimate versions of classic British dishes.
