We continue our introductions of the 7 storytellers selected for Israel: Many Voices​ on May 21. Next up is Michael Simon​ (purple shirt, bottome row) whose story is titled "The Luckiest Guy in the World, Israel Edition." Michael is graduate of Stanford University​ & Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Before his current position spearheading Northwestern Hillel​, he was a Teach for America Corps Member in LA and a policy analyst at The Providence Plan in Rhode Island. He lives in #Evanston with his wife (Spertus and Northwestern faculty member Claire Sufrin​) and their two sons. http://www.spertus.edu/storytelling

We continue our introductions of the storytellers selected for Israel: Many Voices with Sarah Zolno Leibov of Wilmette. Sarah is a writer whose personal essays have appeared in a range of local publications. She is currently editing her first book, a memoir. Her story for the May 21 program is titled "Divisions Within and Without."

We continue to introduce the 7 storytellers selected for Israel: Many Voices on May 21. Next up: Shaily Hakimian, whose story is titled "Israel Offline." Shaily is a Schechter graduate, Indiana University alumnus, comedy enthusiast, community volunteer, and hospital magician, as well as a #Twitter-obsessed social media specialist, event impresario, and advocate for #LGBTQ organizations. She teaches people to value different perspectives with her Periscope show, #DEBATE, and her workshop entitled Friending Our Foes - an open debate. (She didn't mention this, but she also works with our friends at See3 Communications.) http://www.spertus.edu/storytelling

Over the next few days we'll be introducing the 7 storytellers selected for Israel: Many Voices​ on May 21. In alphabetical order, first up is award-winning poet and author Dina Elenbogen​ of Evanston. Her story is titled "Finding Osnat: Thirty Years After Operation Moses." Dina has an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and teaches creative writing at The University of Chicago​ Writers’ Studio. http://www.spertus.edu/storytelling

This is the Spertus Institute 2017 Alex and Klara Tulsky Lecture on the Jewish Future.

Dr. Menahem Blondheim is the Karl and Matilda Newhouse Professor of Communications at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he heads the Truman Institute, the Middle East's first and largest peace Institute. He holds a PhD from Harvard University and was formerly an entrepreneur and executive in Israel's high-tech industry.
