The sun rises on another Enginursday, and a single ray of light falls on a masterpiece that outshines even the brightest sunbeam: Toni's Introduction to the GitHub API. No one can look away or resist its tomes of secret wisdom. Not even you.

Today is both National Dog Day and National Cherry Popsicle Day, and while neither your dog nor your celebratory popsicle are likely to appreciate a homemade LED pop-up card, it's definitely the thought that counts, and thus worth the enjoyable effort.

+George Tsiros considering that I have heard mechanics quote 1.5k$ for a timing belt on a Audi, I have to say that: parts are probably less than 200 dollars (belts, water pump, coolant, thermostat etc) you have a lot of margin to even buy tools just for this repair (that is true also if the mechanic is more honest and "only" charges between 500 and 700 dollars). What you REALLY need is a place to work. I would be uncomfortable doing this in the parking lot of a condo.
By the way it does not have to be like this, not every engine is "complicated" like VW/Audi, for example now I have started working on my wife's BMW and things are so much easier there (but mechanics, especially dealers, would still charge lots of money)

The first day back after a long weekend is always a little rough, but we have something interesting to ease you back into the work week: a Q&A with one of the creators of Mechanek – an awesome, potentially lifesaving device for race car drivers.

You guys, Rob built a combat bot named Sgt. Cuddles, and then he made some videos so you can build your own and use it to destroy Sgt. Cuddles. He'll be putting the sergeant to the test at the NoCo Mini Maker Faire next month.

And speaking of which, the MMF call for makers closes at the end of the day, so get your applications in & we'll see you there!
