With the strong high pressure system still in place, the high temperatures and low winds, the Air District is calling a Spare the Air Smog Alert for tomorrow, Saturday, June 4, the third day in a row. To improve air quality this summer, please consider walking, biking, carpooling or taking transit instead of driving alone, not just on Spare the Air days, but every day. Visit www.stacommutetips.org to find a list of commute programs and incentives available where you live and work.

Winter Spare the Air Alert: The Air District is issuing the season’s first Winter Spare the Air Alert for Saturday, January 2, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors for 24 hours.

Light winds are expected to contribute to unhealthy air quality in the Bay Area, especially in the Santa Clara Valley.
