"Six years ago, Wang Yanfang established a dog asylum as a way to save strays from the pound, where they could be euthanized. Since then, the 60-year-old and four other volunteers—all in their 60s and 70s—have gotten up at 4AM every morning so they can prepare 400 kilograms of food for the hungry pups. The shelter, which is supported solely by donations, makes sure that these animals are fed, cared for, and even groomed regularly."

While the Lunar New Year is traditionally spent with family and loved ones, five elderly Chinese women from Weinan, Shaanxi Province chose to spend the holiday taking care of over 1,300 stray dogs, just as they do every day. Six years ago, Wang Yanfang established a dog asylum as a way to save strays from the pound, where they could be euthanized. Since then, the 60-year-old and four other volunteers—all in their 60s and 70s—have gotten up at 4AM...

“We’re always trying to get the best out of our young people, but for a 3-year-old I’ve never seen this type of focus and dedication. Her attitude is fantastic.”

My name is Karol Nienartowicz and I am a mountain photographer from Poland. For the last 6 years, I've been traveling around Europe, climbing its mountains and spending my nights in a tent in the wildest and most remote places. I usually photograph sunrises and sunsets, so I would put my tent in beautiful scenery. Therefore, I decided to photograph my so-called 'mobile home' in the majestic mountain landscape.

"I'm overwhelmed, I'm happy—my son had a good, strong heart and it has kept her alive."

This past Valentine's Day, one mother got the chance of a lifetime. She heard her son's heartbeat for the first time in nearly two decades when she finally met the heart-transplant recipient whose life had been saved thanks to her son's organ donation. Saturday, which was also National Donor Day, marked an emotional and momentous occasion for the two women, who wept and embraced tightly upon seeing each other in Tampa International Airport. Vicki...

"Men in short skirts protested on the streets of Istanbul over the weekend and have begun sharing photos on social media to highlight the brutal murder of 20-year-old student Ozgecan Aslan who was killed after resisting an attempted rape. The case has sparked debate and dialogue on violence against women in Turkey."

"The city is alive and spontaneous"

<3 http://ow.ly/JyD9R
I'm a photographer from Romania, who usually takes pictures of dance scenes at the theater in Bucharest. Three years ago, I decided to move dancers to the urban space and created the 'Dancing Bucharest' project. The city is alive and spontaneous. It's a source of pleasure and inspiration, unlike a simple studio. I felt that images had their own personality and soul.
