Shawnee Mountain Ski Area is now closed for the 2015/2016 winter season. Our snowmakers and groomers went head to head with Mother Nature this winter and we hate to admit it but we will have to give Mother Nature this win... Our team did an amazing job this season keeping the slopes groomed and covered with snow despite the crazy weather. We also want to thank everyone who had fun on the slopes with us this season. There were so many happy faces from those learning how to ski or snowboard for the first time, to the first family day on the snow and racing grandma down the chutes in the tubing park (we know you let grandma win). You rock and we thank you! We hope to see you this summer and fall for our awesome festival line-up.

Looks like we have a little snow in the forecast! Tomorrow we will have an awesome fresh coating of snow across the mountain! With a deep 32"-44" base and a little powder refresh, conditions tomorrow are going to be awesome.

Came here for the Pocono Garlic Festival, which was incredible. Lots of fun entertainment, delicious food, and great booths. All the vendors are cash only though, which in this day and age of smartphone credit card readers is kind of an inconvenience for people who don't tend to carry cash anymore!

Not a luxury resort but definitely cost effective and great for families. Good for beginners with bunny and green slopes. It can get a bit crowded but the lines aren't terrible. You can bring your own food. Recommended.

I set up group trips for my Scout Troop and the team there (Alycen!) does a fantastic job making all the moving parts work out for both the Adult volunteers and our Scouts. Great place to learn and have fun -- they do a wonderful job helping everyone get situated as well as putting down new snow. This was our 3rd time to Shawnee, and it appears we will come again next year.

My husband and I went here on 2/13/16-we had already purchased our vouchers online for the beginners skiing lessons prior to arriving-saved us about $10 and some time upon arrival. I definitely recommend getting there at least 45min before the lesson time as there is some paperwork and equipment rental logistics to get done before going out to the snow. This was our first time skiing and our instructor Valentino was awesome! He was very patient an informative-the lesson was about 1hr and 45min-well worth it if you have never gone skiing before. Definitely recommend going in the appropriate attire, ski pants, ski googles, heavy duty gloves and something to cover your face-it is cold out there!! The one downfall we would say is that the food is extremely over priced- we paid $30 for two bottled waters, two hamburgers, two fries and one order of chicken nuggets-all in a school cafeteria setting and the food wasn't that great. However we did notice there seemed to be a restaurant there too but it was quite hidden-perhaps next time. The slopes were great! Other than that it was a very fun new experience for us and we hope to come again soon.

While I was there during my visit I brought my 12 pigeons. Now you may be asking your self "why would you do that?" or "what were you thinking?" well there is an answer for that. I brought the pigeons there to see if they would be interested in using these birds to deliver mail to the residence. Not only would this help them save tons of money but this would only add to the experience that you get there. As I went to go make my sale a staff stooped me and asked what I was doing. I told him and then he began to try and take the birds from me. The whole encounter ended with me losing all of my birds.
