Let’s be clear: disarming more law abiding citizens will not stop mass murderers and terrorists. The worst thing to do for national security is trample on the Second Amendment.

"Our military are probably the most trained and responsible people when it pertains to weapons. When we send our soldiers off to combat, we send them off with weapons in their hands. The same rule should apply to soldiers who are stationed stateside as they are now targets as evidenced by the attacks on the two military bases mentioned.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., understands this and that is why he has introduced legislation to allow our men and women in uniform the right to carry weapons on stateside military bases."

Read Bowling Green Daily News' editorial on my legislation, known as the The Service Members Self Defense Act HERE: http://www.bgdailynews.com/opinion/our_opinion/soldiers-should-be-armed-stateside/article_b4c86827-4250-5540-99bf-5adba56126c3.html

I stand with my colleagues today to call for the release of the final 28 pages of the 9/11 Congressional Inquiry. I firmly believe the family members of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks have the right to know the details surrounding the tragedies that occurred on that sad day. The American people deserve a government that instills trust and a restoration of their sense of security. I believe that the Transparency for the Families of the 9/11 Victims and Survivors Act is a step in the right direction.

Tonight, I stood on the Senate floor and defended the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And as long as I have breath, I will continue to defend them. Popular or not.

I released the newest edition to ‘The Waste Report' today. This week’s report uncovers thousands of taxpayer dollars of potential waste in the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA).

+Susan Silverstein The incoherent ramblings of still another one of Rand Paul's sockpuppet accounts. Sigh.

Just give up already, you delusional, dishonest fuck.

Kentucky has absorbed a disproportionate amount of troop cuts in the past and, while I am disappointed to see any more from Fort Campbell, it is reassuring to know the Army recognizes the value of our bases and backed away from its earlier plans for devastating new cuts.

Too often in Congress, legislation is pushed through without hearings, amendments, or debate. I firmly believe the American people have a right to be part of the legislative process. My bills will allow citizens sufficient time to read and give input to members of Congress as they consider legislation impacting the lives of all Americans. I will continue to stand by my pledge to increase transparency and accessibility in the U.S. Senate.

Today's edition of ‘The Waste Report' exposes $8 million of waste spent by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on 7000 defective solar panels for a VA Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, that were never able to be turned on.

The NSA is not collecting the information of terrorists. The NSA is collecting all Americans citizens' records, all of the time. This is what we fought the revolution over. Are we going to so blithely give up our freedom? Are we going to so blithely go along and just say take it? Well, I'm not going to take it anymore and I intend on protecting the Constitution.

This is a monumental decision for all lovers of liberty. I commend the federal courts for upholding our Constitution and protecting our Fourth Amendment rights. I will continue to fight to prevent the Washington Machine from illegally seizing any American's personal communication.
