Introduction
Hi and thanks for taking an interest in my photography, I hope you enjoy my work. I love exploring the beauty of our planet through photography and I love how the act of taking photos anchors you in the here and now, heightening the senses and enhancing the moment.... it makes me feel alive. For me it's like hunting light, using the ancient instincts of the hunt but without death as its final result. You reconnoitre, you plan, you watch, you wait, you take aim, you shoot... but instead of bringing death, you create... and make a moment of light, a moment in time... immortal.

My particular interest is in landscapes, often minimalist. I enjoy the empty places of our fascinating and beautiful world. I find light fascinating, particularly its interaction with time, and long exposure work often features in my images. Mostly though, I like color and my shots reflect what I feel I saw and experienced at the moment of capture.

Other than photography, music also helps me feel young, mostly electronic/trance, I'm a child of the 80's so love OMD, Kraftwerk, Ultravox et al, now it's trance with Armin Van Buuren top of my list.

Very cute...
When one man found a small squirrel freezing in the cold, he knew he just couldn’t let him stay out in the elements on his own. So, he scooped the little guy up, took him home and took part in the most adorable recovery process the Internet has ever seen.

Stayed here in mid Sept during a road trip around Wisconsin and Michigan, during which we stayed in a number of Americinns as well as other chain motels over a period of 19 days. So we had a range of accommodations to judge each against. This was our favorite motel of our trip. It was comfortable and well looked after. The staff were great and very helpful. They had cookies available as little treats for residents on arrival and the breakfast was the best of the chain hotels we stayed in including the other Americinns. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights at end of Sept during 'Artprize'. Lots of pluses... great location within walking distance of city center. The house itself is wonderful and comfortable, with cookies and soft drinks/coffee etc available for residents whenever they wish. Breakfast was continental style and perfectly sufficient and rather nice. I was slightly put off beforehand by the emails about rules etc, but don't let this put you off, they are just asking that you respect the property and as long as you respect the property and other residents I can't see any problems. There were some lovely places to eat that weren't too far away. Overall it was a lovely place to stay with no negatives and if I'm in Grand Rapids again I would definitely choose to stay here again.

My wife and I have been to this Audax for the last 5 years and it just keeps getting better and better. The staff are all wonderful. The rooms are very good. The spa is gorgeous. The pool is in a terrific location overlooking the small town and beach. The food just keeps on getting better and better each year. My wife is a vegetarian and a few years ago she sometimes struggled at mealtimes but this year was the best yet. If you let the chef know he will make special vegetarian meals fresh for you. The food is just delightful with lots of choice. This isn't just any old food, the food is better than most restaurants and I also think it has been getting healthier and healthier each year too. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the bay of Cala Galdana. There are several world class beaches within an hours walk along the beautiful coastal tracks. Menorca itself is so beautiful with so much to do for such a small island. We went early this year and the weather wasn't so good with only 5 days of sunshine in two weeks, despite this we had the best holiday we ever had as there are so many other things you can do. It probably does help if you are interested in history though as the island is littered with history. My only constructive criticism would be with regard to the free wifi hotel internet access. It's pretty poor and could really do with some kind of upgrade. In one sense I'm kind of reluctant to recommend the hotel because I don't want to find out that it's full when I next go and I will be going again... many times I'm sure, however it's a really gorgeous hotel, in a gorgeous location and really does merit an excellent recommendation. And I almost forget to say but the sunsets are well worth a journey to the west of the island for... looking forward to seeing many more there.
