Regionally, Española Public Schools’ graduation rate was 64 percent, the Pecos school district was 57 percent, Pojoaque was 75 percent and Los Alamos 83 percent, according to Public Education Department data.
Graduation rates increased in 48 of 89 school districts, including Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe.

George R.R. Martin's sponsorship of a screenwriting grant is giving New Mexico writers a chance to create science fiction and fantasy stories that could end up on a screen near you. One of the scripts coming from the program will be performed as a stage reading Tuesday in Santa Fe. The story is called Wolf and it's meant to reflect the mysteries of New Mexico.
A young-adult story is now a feature-length screenplay, created with help from Martin, who has partnered with the New Mexico Film Foundation to help the nonprofit give filmmakers in the state a boost.
