Here's a story that could have ended in tragedy if not for the help of Santa Fe's animal community including actress Rachel Brosnahan.
Actress Rachel Brosnahan, who stars in the television series Manhattan, being filmed in the area, and was in the Netflix series House of Cards, is credited with helping save the dog’s life. She spotted the dog at the Frank Ortiz off-leash dog park in Santa Fe on Friday afternoon.

The Marian statue had its eyes gouged and was marked with a pentagram—a five-point star in a circle, sometimes said to be associated with satanic worship. What do you think, was this an ugly prank or something darker?
Church officials said vandals had earlier gouged out the eyes of the Rosario Chapel statue, burned the rosaries hanging around her neck and carved a pentagram, a five-pointed satanic symbol, on her forehead.

Large-scale unrest around the country during the past year pushed the militarization of local police to the fore. The president's new directive pulls out some of the steam from that issue.
Police agencies say they have no problem with President Obama’s new rules, announced Monday, that will prohibit certain military gear from going to local law enforcement and put new restrictions on other equipment, despite receiving millions for such equipment.

The Española Valley Fiesta Council will be holding a meeting this evening and will discuss comments made on social media by La Reina Angelina Vigil criticizing the city after someone broke into her mother's home, ransacked the residence and stole the queen's crown and scepter. Vigil has apologized for the comments, but they stirred up enough controversy that the council has placed a "vote of confidence" on its agenda. Read the latest.
The queen's reign could be cut short as the fiesta council has scheduled a "vote of confidence" at a 6:30 p.m. meeting in Española.

This is not an audit and one hasn't been authorized—but the city is saying in its internal review every penny has been accounted for. Setting blame aside a moment, does this whole affair affect your confidence in approving future bonds. http://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_news/city-releases-report-on-park-bond-spending/article_5cfd2d49-5056-5d06-a26a-4accb2e67144.html

It's all there in front of you. It's theatre, really. The star is the spotlight on the mound, the supporting cast fanned out around him, the mathematical precision of the game moving with the kind of inevitability of Greek tragedy. With the Greek chorus in the bleachers!"
Santa Fe Fuego skipper Bill Moore enjoys poring over scouting reports and digging deep into the statistical paper trail that defines a player’s career. Somewhere between the numbers and the visuals, a magic elixir is found.
