America's 12 oldest roller coasters (that you can still ride) http://ow.ly/QiQqH @usatodaytravel You've ridden one. Right? #GiantDipper
One of these coasters is over 100 years old. Would you still ride it?

I live in San Jose, CA. The boardwalk has an amazing vibe. VERY AFFORDABLE food and drinks. rides are great. New roller coaster seems awesome but didn't get to go on it because the line was too long and we couldn't bring our stuff with us. Place has changed a lot since i was smaller but they're good changes.

Love the beach boardwalk, go there at least once a week to walk around for the food. Today the corn dogs were like they were left from the morning, under the heat lamp yuck the same for the soft pretzels.I don't mind the price and driving through traffic paying for parking to get there, but not getting food that's been warmed under the heat lamps for hours. Playing miniature golf with no air conditioning or fans was so hot we couldn't get out fast enough!

You know the sort of summer memory from childhood that almost earns the title "the perfect day"? It's easy to have perfect days here. I love that you can walk around and go to the beach with no entry fee. You can spend as little as you want -- bring a cooler full of all your favorites from Trader Joe's, swim and sunbathe, maybe join a balloon popping watergun race for $2 and win a stuffed hello kitty, ride a rickety rollercoaster for $5-ish. The people working at the food stands will even give you cups of water for free if you ask for them. How nice is that? As for the rides, don't expect the really neck-wrenching, high speed, super long lined things of other amusement parks. This one was built about a century ago, and not that many rides are modern. I love the Giant Dipper (the rickety wooden coaster with a quarter million nails in it), the ghost blasters (it seems like a kiddie ride, but bring a friend and compete to see who blasts the most ghosts -- it's a hoot), and the log ride. Who can say no to getting splashed and photographed by the ride cameras! OH, and let's not forget the damn good garlic fries. I'm obsessed. I could eat a whole tray myself.

Love this place. Try to go there every summer. Been going there since I was a child. Brings back loving memories with my family. Must try all the rides. And I recommend buying something that says santacruz beach boardwalk. After all the years of going I only have one keepsake and I regret not having more. Never thought I'd move out of CA. Oh and try the clam chowder in the sourdough bread bowl on the pier! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 😍😉

There's enough surviving nostalgia at the boardwalk to still make it a fun place and maintain the old seaside amusement park feel from a century ago. The Giant Dipper and carousel are meticulously-maintained and remain absolute classics.

I love this place. Been there since 1987. Alot has changed but Alot has not. Great food, rides, people ext. They have shows, movies under the stars, fun games. . Wish I could go more often but I'm about 6.5hrs away.
