Excellent Hotel. Lovely staff - reception, bar staff and chamber maids. Spotless hotel and bedrooms. Excellent food. Reception staff very helpful, nothing is a problem for them. Owner John very friendly and down to earth and mixes very well with all the guests making sure that they enjoy their stay and everything is good for them.Very homely hotel - home from home for my daughter and I when ever we stay there. Paddy from china is also very good in the breakfast room.Looking forward to my next stay in the Sandmount Hotel!

Clean room with a functional bathroom. Friendly staff at reception. Outside the rooms, everything looks a bit used and outdated. We could hear some noise from the stadium one night, but it was totally acceptable. Free parking for guests. Breakfast is Irish breakfast with some extras but lacking the cheese and cold meat we Germans like for breakfast. You have to prepare the toast yourself so there may be a small queue at the toaster. Free Wifi with a good signal all over the hotel. You can get a small map of the area showing where you can find pubs and restaurants. DART train station is very close and you can quickly get into the city or with a bit more time to Howth for a walk at the cliffs. Airport is about 20 minutes away by car.

Now called the sandymount hotel, but not close to the sandymount dart stop. Excellent service, clean rooms, free wifi. Rooms are a bit minimalist, there is some noise through the walls but not terrible. Collecting wifi passes from the reception daily is also a chore if you are staying more than one night.

Awful. So noisy, people slamming doors at all times of the night. You can hear people using the bathroom. Rooms are generally poor. Food is half decent.

This hotel is not the most appealing to look at but the service they provide more than makes up for it. Facilities such as free parking and wi-fi are definitely a bonus. However, the hotel is a maze to manoeuvre through. The get get to our room we had to traverse through 2 corridors with turns off in every direction. The room itself was spacious and well presented. And I found it, like the rest of the hotel very clean. A crowning jewel in this hotel was a member of front desk named Siobhan. Very welcoming and helpful.

Adorable from the outside (the gardens are a treat to look at!) for an American, the Sandymount's rooms leave you wanting just a little bit more. The rooms are sparse and simple (but are kept quite tidy), but unfortunately the walls also fall under that category-- sparse. With a room on "Garden level" you can hear the pitter patter of footsteps from above (and even the scuffle of "friends" outside your door on a weekend night). But don't dismay-- the front desk staff at Sandymount is terribly helpful-- they'll clear away any Dubliners that may disturb you and even offer a shuttle to take you into local services. They're kind, provide maps and anecdotes and are receptive to crazy Californian's staying in their hotel. Overall, it's quaint, and it has free WiFi (that's a plus!) that you top off each night and works (reliably) throughout the hotel.
