Stayed here last over the 2013 new year. Me and close family try visit once a year and Sam's Town is usually our first choice for hotel stay. It's affordable, only a short drive from the Fremont strip as well as the main strip. The rooms are comfortable and clean except for the chairs in the rooms. I don't think you can stay in ANY hotel without having a dirty chair though. The buffet is excellent in my opion as well as the service there. Get to the buffet early on holidays and weekends though. Never tried the steakhouse myself but the other establishments (TGI Fridays, Wild Bills mexican, and the deli) practically give food away with how affordable they can be. Accommodations are great for families. Shuttles to the strip daily, no late night trips. Slots are a little tight but affordable. There's a movie theater, free entertiainment, small laser light show daily, a bowling alley (Amazing!), and a small arcade for the kids. Plan on staying again this summer! Did have a problem with the room and entire floor smelling like weed one night but it was New Years. Front desk still made no effort to help when I called about it. Still, great place to stay. Seems like they have everything you want here.

Nice hotel - quite enjoyable. For $33 a night, you cannot go wrong. The room was clean and I liked the overall style of the place - from the laser show at the fountain to the New York City style interior. DON'T EAT THERE! TRUST ME! Never go into the attached steakhouse - it has got to be one of the worst restaurants I've ever ate at. While the service was very good, the food was plain terrible. Me and my relative who was accompanying me throughout my trip ordered Filet steaks, medium well as usual. They came back well done and charred and soaked in a disgusting sauce. We could both not bear to eat the terrible food. The buffet is also very poor - the food is sopping and gross, tasted like someone dumped urine onto it. Other than the horrible culinary experience, it is a nice hotel with a fairly pleasant attached casino. I'd definitely recommend staying a few nights at their cheap rate.

We've been to Las Vegas as a family multiple times. We've stayed at the worst hotels: 4 Queens, Tropicana, Circus Circus, etc (always in the middle of the strip or the Old Las Vegas). This time we decided to stay somewhere farther, because it we needed 2 rooms instead of 1 and were on a budget. Sam's Town was the most affordable hotel we found. I was EXTREMELY surprised with how nice the hotel is. The hotel check-in area is beautiful with a waterfall and a light show. I thought the inside decor was very nice, a little something different. The kids loved the light show and the separation from the casino. Our rooms were very nice, much nicer than expected. Overall, very happy with this hotel. When we go back, it will definitely be to Sam's Town again.

I am a local and Sam's USE to be my "go to" place. The machine's are terribly will not win here.!!!! Also, when we retired and left for a few months, out of the year, we had to re-establish our comp levels, every time we came back...even tho we spent a good deal of money at their casino. Ridiculous! This is not how a good patron should be treated. We use to take all our friends and out of town guests there. NO more. Go elsewhere. Your money will go further/.

Linda- I'm sorry to read that you are unhappy. Our local programs, like most others in Las Vegas, run on a 90-day cycle, so if your accounts are not active during that time they will fall out of the offer rotation. However, if you visit B Connected they will be happy to look into your past account activity and ask our Slot Director to determine what accommodations can be made for you. We often do this with our "snowbirds". I encourage you to visit B Connected or contact us in the Marketing Offices so that we can look into your specific circumstances. I sincerely hope that you will do so and offer us another opportunity to better meet your expectations.

Great family-friendly hotel. My family visited for our spring break. 2 Adults, 15 yo, and 11 yo. It was fantastic. Asked for non-smoking and room had NO odor of stale smoke. Front desk was very responsive. I have stayed at other hotels in Vegas and the "iffy" type were not there at Sam's. Problems were promptly taken care of. The room was cleaned every day beautifully. My kids were disappointed the pool closed at 8pm as they were still on winter hours. And it was across the casino from the rooms, which is awkward. Jacuzzi was amazing. I didn't like the buffet... food wasn't that good and not much variety. The staff at the buffet, McDonalds, and Subway were all unhelpful bordering on rude. Ate breakfast before I left at the buffet and it took the waitress 20 mins to bring the milk for my sons cereal.
