Get started with WebRTC development on Android and iOS

WebRTC enables realtime, peer-to-peer communication of audio, video and data. WebRTC is now supported on Android, iOS and the Web. There are over 1.5 billion browsers out there that implement WebRTC – Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and now Microsoft's new Edge browser is adding support – and so far there have been over three billion downloads of apps powered by WebRTC. We've seen an incredible shift to mobile, where communication is even more important. Mobile users spend more time in communications apps than any other type of app - in fact, 6 of the top 10 most-used mobile apps are apps built for communications.

Until now, there haven't been many resources available to help developers get started with WebRTC on native mobile platforms – but two great new getting-started guides have just been published, one each for Android and iOS:

http://goo.gl/uf1mTY
http://goo.gl/lZBy96

You'll find full details about how to get, communicate and render audio, video and data on native platforms.

For more information about WebRTC, take a look at the tutorials, demos, repos and resources at g.co/webrtc.

WebRTC has been heralded as a new front in a long war for an open and unencumbered web, and is seen as one of the most important innovations in web standards in recent years. WebRTC has allowed web de

I'd love to see a mask attribute for the HTML input element to disallow invalid input:

    mask="0000-00-00"

Like what Qt does: doc.qt.io/qt-4.8/qlineedit.html#inputMask-prop

+1 to Polymer.

It'd be great to help people avoid invalid data entry in the first place, rather than make them go back and fix errors when they submit – especially on mobile.

Help us learn about how deprecations, removals and changes to Web platform API's affect you.
Drive
How do changes to web affect your site?The web is constantly changing with new shiny API's being added all the time. However, browser developers also have to remove legacy platforms features, fix spec incompatibilities (or even change when the spec changes) and this can cause massive frustration for users and developers when it is a change that causes your site to stop working. Has a Web Platform API removal or API change affected one of your sites or apps? If so, we want to know how...
