"If born and raised" for anything, Justice Robert's has demonstrated congruence with "law as spirit" and "law as writ". His rulings are preserving the values we cherish, rather than putting them at risk. The heart rushes and throws itself on the rocks pleading inevitability be something less. Logic builds to counter. His opinions both as opinion and as dissent evidence what I would consider definitively Republican. Precisely because they belong to the deeper legacies of our written words, and those who wrote them.

If certain recognitions haven't set in that he's honoring questions of law in ways that others are awfully quick to think ought so suddenly be swept away...
