Thanks!  This is actually very VERY far from the final image I have planned.  So for now the modeling takes priority.  After the modeling and texturing is done, I'll put it into the final scene. :)

A work in progress.

Here's a 3d modeling project of mine!  The background will go, in the final version.  But for right now it's serving as a light source so I can spot problems with my 3d model.  The final image will be in a dark (almost pitch-black building) except for a stream of light coming in from the top right corner, showing my character sitting cross-legged on the ground holding a grenade in his hand.  I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while, but only spent about a total of two hours on the modeling so far.

What do you think?

+Prometheus Montana thanks! :) The final image is going to have a very different lighting and composition.

Autodesk continues to prove to me that it makes complete shit and then tries to pass it off as software.

Mudbox is completely unusable. It crashes every ten seconds if you zoom out too far. And then you can see this beautiful image here, where it messes up the 3d viewport.

Classic autodesk.

It may sound like I'm defending Autodesk and maybe I once would've but I try to avoid using AutoCAD these days if I can. So rip away! XD

It's looking pretty crappy, but it's only about an hour and a half old.  So let's see how this goes.

Also the mannequin I used for initial posing is still in there as a guide, and its head is poking through the helmet, obscuring most of it.  But hey, that adds to the hype right?

I have a 3d modeling project planned for when I finish high school in a couple weeks. It's not a car. (Although maybe that'll come up sometime too)

The gloves are horrible.  Definitely going to redo those.  Anyway, this is about an hour and a half of work.

Sigh.  Inspiration hit really hard today and I guess I wasted half an hour I could've spent finishing my history chapter...I think I'll go do that.

In the meantime here's a space helmet.  Interesting new project huh?
Like I said earlier, about half an hour's work.

Student with aspirations of consumer tech company greatness
Introduction
I'm a digital artist, mostly a 3d modeler, sometimes a digital painter.  I started 3d modeling in the summer of 2006, when I was 9, using Google Sketchup.  Since 2010, I've switched to Blender and never looked back.  Here are some handy links to two of my other online profiles where I post my art:
I'm very interested in programming, processor architecture, and GUI design.  This means that something like building an operating system (on an existing kernel, or even developing a new one) is on my bucket list.

I'm going to be attending university this summer, where I'll be majoring in electrical and computer engineering.

My life goal is to create a consumer tech company that produces meaningful innovation rather than just annually attempting to one-up specs of competitors' products.  This goal includes the creation of an operating system as I stated earlier, and also creation of new UIs and product categories.
