This Victorian picture of the Chequers Hotel posted on our recognition section of RootsChat has now been successfully identified as the Tane Otters Pub at Howpas Staffordshire by Trystan Yeay !!!

Planned Closure of Lancashire Museums.......

Lancashire council has announced plans to close 5 of Lancashire Museums, Queen Street Mill in Burnley, Helmshore Textile Mill in Rossendale, Museum of Lancashire, Fleetwood Museum and the Judges Lodges house' in Lancaster.

These are due to close in less than 4 months yes April 2015.

The Council plan to close a further 6 more within 18 months including Lancaster Castle, Lancaster City Museum, Lancaster Cottage Museum, Clitheroe Castle and Gawthorpe Hall.
