With all eyes focused on Orlando, it’s fitting that a grieving world is finding solace in the words of a gentle man who possessed deep ties to our community.

A simple yet profound quote from the late Rollins graduate Fred Rogers ’51 ’74H, beloved host of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood:
“When I was a boy and would see scary things on the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” Rogers said. “To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother's words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers—so many caring people in this world.’”

Summer Field Study Program Spotlight:
Rural Education in Rwanda

While walking home from Duha Complex School in the village of Musha, Rwanda, where Rollins students are teaching English, one day, one of their students ran up to them from his house and started singing the song they'd been teaching all week in his class.

Ellie Rushing, the Rollins student in this picture said, it made walking 7 miles a day to and from the school so worth it!

Rollins Remembers.

Today, Memorial Day, the nation pauses to remember the people who died while serving our country.

The U.S. flag is flown at the half-staff position in tribute to the more than one million men and women who gave their lives in our country's armed forces.
