OK school overall, as long you do not take any courses given by Anna Rodriguez. The most biased teacher in the whole wide world. She's impossible to deal with. As per her bio, she was in the prison industry for the past decade or so. She literally failed me with an F after she made a mistake in grading. Upon providing concrete evidence for my assignments, she was able to give me a C final grade, instead of the B final grade that I deserve. Good luck if Victoria Hauri is your advisor, she's very good at responding 2-4 weeks late for any questions regarding counselling.

I have dealt with incompetent educational administrations before, but never like this. My intent was to enroll in a summer course to transfer the credits to my primary university, but the ID verification took 2 weeks- far longer than the 3-5 day period that I was promised. I contacted Rio Salado repeatedly to ask about the status of my verification, but none of the apathetic-toned employees were able to help. My start date was pushed back so much that I would not be able to complete my course by the time I begin fall classes at my university. I realize that everything moves slowly in bureaucracies, but this was just egregious. Additionally, I was promised in-state tuition, but was instead charged for their out-of-state tuition which costed 4 times more. I decided that I would visit their office the next day to talk to try and resolve the problem. But later that evening, I found that I had been forcefully dropped from the class. Due to the ineptitude of this administration, I will likely not be able to take the class. Truly, what a mess. Community colleges are an asset to American society, but it's quite upsetting to know that there is so much dysfunction in this particular one.

After trying for 5 days to talk to a person, leaving multiple messages, and spending a considerable amount of time listening to the dreadful hold music I finally was able to talk to a person. This person was short and determinedly unhelpful. I was hoping to talk to a human being of intelligence, which was why I called in the first place. Sadly all I got was a robotic reading of the information posted online, as if I was too stupid to read it or even find it. The end result is I am now behind where I could be in my degree and I will take my business elsewhere. There is no shortage of community colleges and many of them can actually answer the phone and employ intelligent human beings.

I'm having similar experiences as several of the other reviewers, and I wish I had chosen another school. I'm only two weeks in, but my only real complaint is that I've been given incorrect information from the Admissions department -- twice. This has delayed whatever financial aid I could receive for two weeks. It's stressful being unsure about my finances especially because I'm depending on this. There are better ways to manage something as important as how people will support themselves while trying to improve their lives. After taking classes for a few weeks, I now have more to add. Their online classes are pretty basic, as far as I'm concerned. Mostly what's involved is a presentation of the material then it's up to you to take what you can from that and apply it to the project that is given at the end of that lesson. I have a graduate degree in educational technology and a certificate in online teaching and learning, so I want my classes to be of higher quality. More frustratingly, I have had repeated problems uploading my assignments. I don't know what the cause is and have contacted tech support twice. Neither time were they able to resolve my problem. It usually takes me two days to upload my assignment before it actually works. Someone should be able to help me with this. I have also followed up with the reply from the school. I emailed them, gave them my phone number and a good time to call me, but I have heard nothing. That was several weeks ago. It just indicates to me that the problems with this school are systemic, and there is much work to be done to improve the quality of education here. I don't feel optimistic about that happening.

Horrible experience with this school. I enrolled about a year ago and was admitted and went through most of the enrollment process up until choosing my classes. I then postponed beginning my school semester because of personal reasons. Now that I am ready I went back to re-enroll and get serious. Well now admissions and records dept decided to deny accepting my transcripts, the same transcripts that they had approved last year!! They argue that there isn't a graduation date on my transcripts and blah blah so I had my high school send all the information they need an official graduation letter a copy of my diploma my transcripts etc. Well rio keeps saying "we are reviewing them". I went to re-enroll in April and its July. I went to my high school to have my director call and speak to Rio and they would not accept speaking to her and then the lady said "Your school isn't doing their job" excuse me???? My school is here willing to talk and send what you're asking for and you won't do it so who isn't doing their job!??? I told them I would be changing my financial aid and transferring to a different school and of course they didn't care because they don't care about it and don't want to deal with it. It's really a shame that I wasted my time here.

Wow I have never dealt with a more incompetent group of administrators before. All I wanted was to enroll in one course which has taken me well over two months to do. They also tried charging me for out of state tuition when I am in state. There phone service is awful. I do not recommend going here unless you absolutely have to. They are by far easier and better options out there for online colleges.

I took two semesters of German with Rio Salado. It was very difficult at the beginning of BOTH semesters to get signed up for the right class, since I was a minor and needed to get my parents signature. Now I've been trying for 2 months to try to send my transcripts to another state college. I filled out the paper work and payed to get it sent, then it didn't ever get sent. Now my account isn't working when I try to login so I can't resend it. No one knows what they're doing and no one knows how to help me or how to find the person I need to find to help me. I highly recommend using any other college but this one. It will save you lots of grief.

Don't ever go here!! This place sucks the worst!! They take your money and they are happy to help UNTIL and this is a big UNTIL...you have issues with faculty, classes or any other dispute!! I hate this college and don't suggest it to anyone. They suck, they suck, they suck!! Ruby Miller is not only uncaring, but negligent in her handling other student affairs. Also, Jennifer Gresko and countless others!! Don't ever go here!! They are horrible!!
