Our dinner at LIFT restaurant was pretty good. One of my party experienced poutine for the first time and enjoyed it. I've had it before and liked the preparation when I sampled it. Another had steak. I thought the portion was a bit small, but she reported it to be "just right". A third and I had the oat crusted chicken. It was good, but the crust needed some additional flavoring. The accompanying tomato puree was good and meant for this, but was insufficient in quantity. I'd dine here again.

My suite was great and spacious for a suite. Had I been staying longer, I'd have taken advantage of the ample kitchen. Oversize vehicle parking is about a block and a half away, but the one-way streets of Ottawa will command a decision based on the outdoor lot or indoor lot. Take the latter even though you have to drive a little more to get to it. WiFi speed is pretty standard for a hotel ("poor").

Our stay was enjoyable. The location is next to a wonderful lookout point to watch the gorgeous sunset over the water. My sole criticism is their WiFi. "Accounts" are single device, and for a connected family, that means a whole lot of accounts. They're free but are made available on an easily-lost receipt paper. The Internet throughput was around 1 Mbps, enough for email and mobile web browsing, but that's it. Go outside and play.

Gorgeous property, great rooms with that country feel. Breakfast was great. Hot tub after a long day of driving was awesome. Citronella candles and other mosquito defences are available, but you might still want bug spray for the walk from the parking lot to the guest house. We'd stay here again!

I called around and was quoted at least $500 by other companies to replace a rusted track. No other company would use the parts that I'd already acquired, but didn't have time or specialized knowledge and tools to remove the horribly rusted old track. I called and got someone on the phone, and they had someone out to me within the hour for approximately $250. During the visit, the technician saw that the cables were also damaged and repaired them, too. When I tried to replace the door sealer strip later that day after the technician had left, but couldn't get it to work, I called back. He installed a new strip for approximately $50, including the service call fee. Several repairs for under $500 over two days, and every other company I'd called quoted 'at least $500', with one company saying that it would just be cheaper to replace the whole door system! I'll call Steel City Garage Doors any time I need garage door help now.

Taza 21 has a great selection of middle eastern food. All of it is hand-made before your eyes with great care. I recommend it to anyone! I've had many of the things on the menu, since I work nearby and go here often. My favorites are the grape leaves wrap and the chicken shawarma salad. I've never had a less than stellar meal and it's always affordable. Service is generally not fast, so sit down and enjoy some conversation while your food is made or order online before heading there.
