I am so excited!!! Just received my copies of the Lean In for Graduates by Sheryl Sandberg the Chief Operating Officer at Facebook. This book is great and has been endorsed by Oprah Winfrey, Chelsea Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg etc. My story was published in the book. It is amazing to see my story in black and white in such a prestigious book that will help many graduates. I feel blessed that others will be inspired by my journey. I feel honored that people will read good things from Ghana on an international platform. I am a proud Ghanaian!!

Our wishlist is out. We need plastic tables for our girls in the slum in Nima at the center. We will accept plastic table donations or the money to buy plastic tables. The girls need the tables to put computers on for coding classes and to do their homework. Please call 0266076862 or email info@soronkosolutions.com

Tomorrow is a huge day for #Techneedgirls and our mentees at Achievers book club in Nima. We will be visited by a 15 member delegation made up of the crown princess of sweden who will be the first queen since 1720, members from the royal court, ministers of state in sweden and CEO's of swedish companies. They will come and see how we run our techneedsgirls program and visit the girls. I am humbled, honoured and excited. I never imagined I would met a real princess. This visit will inspire the girls to know that nothing is impossible and that they are very valuable. Even a princess from sweden will take time to visit them. I am inspired to keep doing what I am doing because I am seeing the impact everyday and I am shaping minds. I will never stop till all my girls reach their full potential.

Watch our shapers Fred Degbee Jnr of Heel the World (H.T.W) and Regina Agyare of Soronko Solutions as they are featured in this month’s CNN African Start Up half-hour program. The program airs on Friday 5:30 ET or 10:30 GMT and also at 11:30 ET or 4:30 GMT

Highlighting Africa's Entrepreneurial Spirit

Building a business is never easy but here in Africa the spirit to chase a dream is growing. Who are the people behind some of the continent’s new business start-ups? This month we meet innovative entrepreneurs from South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda. They are making their own high-end brands and useful online services as well as creating specialized products and cuisines. Watch them give it their all to make a difference in their community and compete on the global stage. Plus advice for African start-ups from South Africa’s Minister of Trade and Industry. Join us on an ambitious journey filled with risks and rewards.
