We're delighted to have been able to help Wolstanton Bowling and Snooker Club with £3,000 through the Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund.

The club's exterior wall was crumbling and needed repairing. They applied to the Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund for a grant so that they could have the remaining render removed and replaced. The work has been finished and has made a huge difference to the outside of the club.

We're pleased to be able to support the local communities around our sites with #funding for projects that will benefit the local area. Not-for-profit organisations can apply for a grant from the Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund if they are within a 3 mile radius of our #Staffordshire sites - Treatment and Transfer Station (Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent) or our Landfill site (Silverdale, Newcaastle-under-Lyme).

Access to the Landfill Communities Fund is a way for communities to benefit from living in close proximity to a landfill site. The Red Industries Landfill Communities Fund offers grants to projects within a 3 mile radius of one of our sites in #Newcastle-under-Lyme and #Stoke-on-Trent (in #Staffordshire).

Funding is available for #community and #environmental projects that will benefit the local community and its residents – the types of projects that could be able to receive grant money includes improvements to a community hall, building of a new play park, or expansion of a public #sporting facility, restoration of a historical building etc.

Red Industries have so far approved funding of over £57,000 through the Landfill Communities Fund this year, including #grant money awarded for a community centre, football club, and bowling green. There is over £100,000 of funding available for the next round of applications - the next closing date for applications is 8th September 2017, and funding decisions will take place in November.

This is a great opportunity for the #communities around our sites to benefit from improvements to local facilities and expansion of activities within the Staffordshire area. The #LandfillCommuntiesFund is open to projects that are not-for-profit and open to the general public. If you work with a local Scouts group, athletics club, museum, or any other community organisation - get in touch with Red Industries to see if you could be eligible to receive grant money towards your next project.

The Derbyshire Environmental Trust adminster the fund on our behalf and will support you with your application, including providing advice on the eligibility of your project, supplying you with an application pack, and guiding you through each step of the Landfill Communities Fund application process with Red Industries.

Find out more about #TheLCF, including eligibility information and how to get an application pack, by clicking the link or visiting http://buff.ly/2uvWfqW
