Hi everyone - I'm an erotica writer, anthology editor and writing instructor. I'm teaching a four-week class starting tomorrow at the site +Lit Reactor. It can be taken anonymously from any location and I provide weekly writing assignments and critiques, daily posts about various topics such as writing threesomes, humor erotica, etc. and have exclusive to the class interviews with publishers, editors, literary agents and authors. If you're interested, today's the final day to sign up and there are 3 spots (of 16) left. I recommend taking it only if you have 5 hours a week to devote to it, so you'll get the most out of it.
Writing about sex is so much bigger than one little Grey trilogy. Learn to write about sex with skill and grace, and then how to sell it, in this four-week workshop.

If you haven't checked it out already, my new book Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume 1 has 22 amazing stories by women from around the world, including +Rose Caraway, +Tiffany Reisz and +Jade A. Waters to name a few. There are links to lots of free stories on the site and it's available in print and ebook. Makes a perfect Valentine's Day gift or a snowy weekend read. Plus on the site at the top click on "call for submissions" for my guidelines. It pays $100/story and the deadline is April 1. I especially want stories by and about women of color, trans women, women over 50 and women outside the United States and really any woman writer who has something to sexy to contribute, especially types of stories that aren't in Volume 1! If you're looking for a #podcast  that grapples with some of the most urgent issues facing our country in a way that takes a very personal approach, check out Reckonings, hosted by Stephanie Lepp. I interviewed her for +The Daily Dot and found her first season fascinating, especially the final episode where she interviews a former white supremacist. You'll hear people reckoning with things like being a tough on crime prosecutor whose mind changed from teaching prisoners, to a former drug cop who's now against the war on drugs to a conscientious objector, a Canadian mother whose son was killed after he joined ISIS, and more. It's serious and often challenging listening, but, I'd say, important and meaningful. #podcasting
The 'Reckonings' podcast is a safe harbor for remorse.

This hoarder is not impressed with the reality show Hoarders and wrote about it for +Salon. #hoarders   #hoarding   #realityTV
The reality show is back, in its "most extreme ever" 8th season, once again exploiting the people it claims to help

I was recently interviewed on the first all-female episode of the +Lit Reactor podcast Unprintable talking about everything from Morrissey winning the Bad Sex in Fiction Award last year for his novel List of the Lost, Tampa by Alissa Nutting, whether or not to use your real name when writing about sex, and much more. How'd I get booked on the show? By using what I learned in The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer, and asking. More on how that book changed my life, why I love podcasts and my upcoming LitReactor class on my blog. #podcast   #Unprintable   #Morrissey   #books   #theartofasking   #litreactor   #rachelkramerbussel   #badsexinfiction

My four-week online erotica writing class at +Lit Reactor starts tomorrow and there are 3 spots (of 16) left! This will be my sixth time teaching it: in a nutshell, I'll be posting daily for 29 days with writing lectures, assignments, exclusive interviews with publishers, editors, literary agents and successful erotica authors, and steering students toward completing and submitting their work. I'm available to answer any questions about the writing and publishing process, author branding and marketing and anything else related to erotica and you'll be invited to continue the conversation in my private online group for alumni of my classes. I'm looking forward to seeing how creative everyone can be. I suggest only taking the class if you have at least five hours a week to devote to it, in order to get the most out of it. #writing   #erotica   #litreactor

I'm gearing up for my next +Lit Reactor online erotica writing class, which starts next Thursday (registration ends Wednesday, February 10th). I just wrote out my daily posting schedule - yes, I'll be posting every day for 29 days with weekly lectures and assignments along with at least 17 exclusive to the class Q&As with erotica professionals, including publishers, editors, literary agents and authors. I've also got lessons on writing threesomes, humor erotica, author branding, pen names and much more. Class is limited to 16 people to make sure everyone gets the attention they deserve, and I highly encourage students to ask as many questions as you can during our four weeks together! +Cleis Press Viva Editions +Cleis Press +Cleis Press

I'm simultaneously impressed that this +Etsy seller fit all 29 of Kanye West's deleted tweets to Wiz Khalifa inside a card and horrified at the other Valentine's Day one they're selling that's all kinds of awful about Amber Rose. Check it out at +The Daily Dot. #Etsy   #cards   #ValentinesDay   #KanyeWest   #AmberRose   #Twitter
Nothing says 'Happy Valentine's Day' quite like a card with Kanye's tweets.

If you want to know about the tough climate for book sales and why authors so very much appreciate anything you can do to help their books, read this. Yes, I recently wrote about why I and other authors aren't against used bookstores, but there are so many ways to support an author that can actually do just as much as your individual book sale: spreading the word, asking for the book at your local library, reviewing it, etc. I am trying to be a better book citizen this year and will be sharing recommendations here and on my blog in addition to my Amazon reviews, and if you've read a book you like, I encourage you to do the same. As this post shows, every single reader is vitally important, especially to those in the early stage of their writing careers. #books   #writing   #authors   #publishing   #booksales
When I found out my first book had been accepted for publication, I did not have dreams of a bestseller or fame; I mostly experienced relief. While I’d published in magazines and anthologies, su...

I wrote my first piece for +Ravishly about trying to conceive at 40. I'm committed to revamping my life to make this not just something I talk about, but something I actually focus on. Hopefully, new year = new life! #2016goals   #fertility   #infertility   #conception   #ravishly   #pregnant   #pregnancy
If I truly believed I could simply buy my way to motherhood, though, I’d have maxed out my credit cards long ago. I suspect, however, that many of these products are simply too good to be true; they may work for a small group of women, but they aren’t a pregnancy panacea.

Introduction
I live in New Jersey though I travel frequently. I write, edit and read voraciously. I'm a sex columnist for Philadelphia City Paper and DAME. I blog about cupcakes at Cupcakes Take the Cake. I've edited over 50 anthologies including Come Again: Sex Toy Erotica, The Big Book of Orgasms (my favorite!), Cheeky Spanking Stories, Best Bondage Erotica 2015 (and 2011-2014), Fast Girls, Orgasmic and many others. My writing has been published in Alternet Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Elle.com, The Frisky, Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, Inked, Medium, New York Post, New York Observer, Refinery29, Salon, Slate, Thought Catalog, Time.com, Time Out New York, The Village Voice, The Washington Post and other publications. I try to eat healthily, but it's often hard to do when things like pizza are easy and cheap. Enter Iconic Hand Rolls, where sushi lovers don't have to break the bank or wait for their meal. I was already excited about the concept of this place, since I love hand rolls (also: I have been known to eat nori plain, cause I love it). They make hand rolls using white or brown rice (same price) and each one is a good size; I'd say 2 make a perfect meal, though one plus a side is often filling, depending on what meal you're there for. All of the rolls I've had are very good; I especially like the scallops, spicy tuna and salmon, and eggplant. But to me it's the sides that take Iconic Hand Rolls from a decent to an awesome place to eat. Their kale salad is simple but delicious, and their cauliflower has made me see a vegetable I was iffy about as something I'd eat any time. I often get one roll and a side of kale salad and cauliflower. They also offer soy sauce and a soy sauce/wasabi combo on the table, for those who like their food a bit on the spicy side. They are quick, cheap, healthy and, best of all, delicious. Also, open pretty late. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of sushi.
