Each Basket Brigade box contains enough food for six people: a 12- to 14-pound turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, cornbread mix and a pumpkin pie. It also has a note that says, “This comes to you from someone who cares. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else one day.”
For Joella Kerr of North Charleston, Tuesday morning was about giving back to an organization that helped her when she was down. Last year, Kerr and her son Aydan were living in a hotel, having lost their house in Ravenel.
