Valenti, now 73, is serving two life sentences at Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville. He was convicted of killing Sherri Clark, 14, and Alexis Ann Latimer, 13, in 1973.
A state parole board on Wednesday denied convicted murderer Richard Valenti’s 19th bid for parole.

By all accounts, Ron Burris should have died Aug. 23, 1999. He was shot at 48 times after leading police on a six-hour chase through multiple jurisdictions and ultimately crashing in West Ashley.
The man who was shot a dozen times by police in one of the most infamous car chases in local history wants to change the way authorities report “shots fired” calls over the radio.

“(My mom) has been kind of stressed about it,” said Saunders, a Burke High School graduate and three-time NCAA champion in the shot put. “But I told her, things will work out. It always has, and that’s why I try not to stress about a lot of things. I know if you leave it in God’s hands, things will work out.”
Raven Saunders plans to depart for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 2, her trip to Brazil and stay in the Olympic Village in Barra da Tijuca paid for by the U.S. Olympic Committee.
