I'm sure this post will be deleted as I would bet many posts like it have been deleted in the past. I plan to post this many times in hopes it reaches some people at least. I'm done spending my time trying to make things right. DON'T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE EXTRA CHARGES ON YOUR CREDIT CARD FROM THE FRONT DESK. I have been calling them over the last couple weeks. Some people at the front desk couldn't verify what the charge was for. I am assuming all of their staff is very uneducated from the level of service I have received from ALL of them. Today I was told it was for a late checkout which is a mistake on their end or a shady business tactic. After speaking with their fantastic (sarcasm for antagonistic) staff today and being put to a useless voice mail several times over the last couple weeks I AM CERTAIN THEY ARE A SHADY BUSINESS. The Plaza is obviously a giant crap hole which is kind of why I liked staying there (its cheap). I'm not sure if there are new owners, but I have enjoyed staying here many times in the past. My last experience, however, was horrible from booking a reservation with them until now. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT ON THEIR PROPERTY AGAIN. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND AVOID THE PLAZA AT ALL COSTS!!!

I love this hotel! I accidentally came across this hotel and found that the quality was better than that of Harrah's and other big hotels. I did not have to worry about something as simple as bottled water, because it was provided for free. The convenience and easy atmosphere were wonderful benefits. I also enjoyed some slot play. Every time I come to Las Vegas I will be staying here. I also like the restaurants that are located inside of the hotel. GREAT PLACE.

We have stayed at the Plaza numerous times. This last time (4-6 to 4-9, 2014) was the worst experience ever! The toilet wouldn't flush. We notified the front desk, they said someone would check it out. My husband fixed it himself. Not one person ever asked us about the problem during our entire time there. Not even when we checked out. The staff was very rude and unaccommodating. There are several fast food places in the hotel. We went to the McDonald's and the Mexican eatery. The staff at both of those places were also very rude. At McDonald's my husband placed our order and asked for a cup of water. They gave him a cup of ice and told him to get water from the fountain located in the casino because they didn't have any water. The fountain was rusty and had green moldy stuff around it. We ended up paying $2 for a 16 oz bottle of water from the gift shop. The morning that we were leaving, my husband went to McDonald's for a coffee refill, they asked him for a receipt. He told them he didn't have one and offered to pay for the coffee. She told him very rudely that she would give it to him this time and made it a point to mark the cup with a permanent marker. It seems each time we asked any staff member for assistance whether it was a suggestion on where to eat, catch the bus, discount coupons, etc. they made us feel as it were and imposition. Will definitely not stay at the Plaza ever again!!!! It isn't worth the aggravation!

The 2 stars are for the fact that there was a bed in the room, and the hotel is at the end of Fremont Street. That is it in a nutshell. They certainly don't have anything to brag about. My husband and I have been going to Las Vegas on a regular basis since we were married there in 1977. The Plaza has been our choice of hotels because of its location and it was always a pleasure to stay there. Until this time! My son was married on the 14th of June 2014. Thirteen people came in from as far as Arkansas to be at the wedding all staying at the Plaza per our referral. OMG it was horrible.Just to name a few of the circumstances we had to deal with, the bathrooms in the casino were disgusting, the toilets all full of waste or toilet paper, the hallways and elevators were sweltering hot and smelly. We were in room #1034 and at 4am the hallway outside our room became a mad house. No one answered the phone at the front desk after repeated calls. When I went down and spoke to the guy at the security desk he informed me that it wasn't his fault that no one answered the phone at the front desk! This was at approximately 6am but even at 8am my husband had to call the desk three times before anyone answered. To add to a bad experience I had made the reservations in April and paid $67.00 for the room, however I made a mistake and reserved Friday night instead of Saturday night. I didn't realize this until June 7th at which time I called to change the night and the room went from $67 to $123. Double! And although Plaza advertises rooms for $26 per night my daughter and I both were not able to find when and where they have rooms for $26 per night. All in all my husband and I were very embarrassed that we had suggested the Plaza to anyone and will never make that mistake again!!!! Never. And no we didn't lose a lot of money, we were winners however we did very little gambling at the Plaza and what we did do there was disappointing. Thanks Plaza for nothing. Sincerely....

Worst hotel ever! Stay at the Golden Nugget, we went there for the pool daily. Plaza had dirty shower curtains, writing on the bathroom door, and we got woke up at 4:30am, Friday night only to be on hold with no answer for 20 minutes when I called the front desk. I had to walk down to get help, and the manager seemed bothered by me. The pool there was dirty the entire weekend and we never went in. I had my family (2 teens and a 3 year old) and on checkout they told me that after I'd already paid $325 for 3 nights, they were adding about $295 which they could not explain. I got some weird receipt from the manager after waiting 15 minutes. Apparently after the first 2 adults they decided to charge $20 per kid per night, but were kind enough to remove the charges for the 3 year old. They were rude and said that the bellman (I never used a bell man, had to carry all of our bags up ourselves mind you) and room service reported I had 5 people in my room. Well, yes, when I went down to complain at 5am Monday I even said the 20 people partying in the room next door woke up my 3 year old and two teens. They acted like I was hiding something. They were all with me when I checked in and no one mentioned all these other charges. They did offer a food credit for Friday 4 am issue of $80 - although dinner costed $100 for 4 of us (she'd up'd the credit from $50 when she realized there were 4 of us on Saturday morning because we all came down again, but never said they were planning to charge me $180 for the kids). She did say to just leave the keys in the room when I left (probably so I wouldn't come down and see that ridiculous additional bill!!!!!) I've read other reviews where people have gotten tons of unexplainable charges this morning after my experience, I only wish I'd known earlier. I would never have booked with that dirty, low class, poor service, rude staffed, no amenities (no jacuzzi, no fridge in room, bad wifi that didn't even work, windows that don't open) ashtray smelling rooms, dirty cloudy pool so you can't see the bottom ever. It's not even you get what you pay for, it's cheap but you DON'T EVEN get what you pay for and then they charge you MORE!!!! Horrible. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!!!

This review is based solely on my visit to the Casino, as we stayed at another hotel on the strip...I must say every employee we encountered was super friendly. Including the bartenders. But the high light of the evening was Jeremy Wieand's comedy show located in a comfortable theatre near the bar. Both he and the guest comedians put on a great show! One thing's for sure, the next time I'm in vegas I will definitely look up Jeremy Wieand!
