- Please note, "proxy editing" means high-quality proxy files used in place of the original video files while editing and rendering, to work around containers and formats which are not well supported or not video editing friendly. They are not the low-quality proxies for using on systems not powerful enough. This follows Pitivi's focus on quality and stability.47w
- It is not possible to install pitivy on Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS anymore. I don't know how much money developers have received from competitors for ruining this project but finally they get it!
Now I have to find a proprietary alternative due to there are no free software for linear video editing.42w
- Pitivi developers have received exactly 0$ from any company to work on Pitivi. The only source of funding that ever occured (besides Summer of Code interns/students sponsored by Google on various years) were donations by individuals in the 2014 public fundraiser. Thanks to all of these generous people, and were able to spend time for a couple months fixing the biggest technological rearchitecturing challenges we faced.
The fact that you can't install the latest apps on a 2-2.5 years old Linux distro frozen in time does not surprise me. And it's not our fault. Get a fresh distro if you want fresh packages. I strongly suggest you stop the insults and slandering over something we have no control over. We don't make Ubuntu.42w
- may I suggest not getting into arguments with dumb people? I think that's the safest course of action for Free Software developers that don't want to get insulted for spending countless hours on a project by users of a butchered attempt at "packaging" it :)40w
