http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Fedora-21-Ubuntu-OSX-More-GL Earlier this week I shared some new OS X 10.10 vs. Fedora 21 vs. Ubuntu 15.04 benchmarks, which were quite interesting and Linux ended up having the upper-hand on this new Mac Mini with an Intel "Haswell" CPU sporting Iris Graphics. For those interested in more cross-OS benchmarks with Intel Iris Graphics, here's some additional results.

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=nvidia-titan-x&num=1  Last week NVIDIA unveiled the GeForce GTX TITAN X during their annual GPU Tech Conference. Of course, all of the major reviews at launch were under Windows and thus largely focused on the Direct3D performance. Now that our review sample arrived this week, I've spent the past few days hitting the TITAN X hard under Linux with various OpenGL and OpenCL workloads compared to other NVIDIA and AMD hardware on the binary Linux drivers.

Introduction

Phoronix Media's premiere web property is Phoronix.com, which was founded after seeing the lack of online media that covered alternative operating systems at the time -- primarily when it came to Linux hardware reviews. Phoronix provides readers with the most detailed and up-to-date information in the computing world when it comes to the Linux and other open-source operating systems. Phoronix is especially well regarded for its Linux graphics articles and with time has become the leader in providing original Linux hardware content. More than 2,600 featured articles and 10,000 news postings have been published at Phoronix.

Phoronix is also responsible for the development of the widely-used Phoronix Test Suite testing software along with Phoromatic and OpenBenchmarking.org.

Phoronix was founded by Michael Larabel on 5 June 2004.
