Refugees stream into Europe, where they are not welcomed with open arms http://pewrsr.ch/1OPT5QE

Two surveys last year of Europeans show that many, especially Greeks, Italians and others in the Europe's south, hold negative views of immigrants and are concerned about new arrivals from outside the EU.

How the American and Japanese People See Each Other
http://pewrsr.ch/1yS1knQ
Americans overwhelmingly (94%) voice the view that the Japanese are hardworking. And three-quarters of Americans see the Japanese as inventive. About seven-in-ten (71%) Americans also see the Japanese as honest. Those with at least some college education (75%) are more likely than Americans with only a high school education or less (64%) to characterize the Japanese in this manner. #Japan

Internet Seen as Positive Influence on Education but Negative on Morality in Emerging and Developing Nations
http://pewrsr.ch/1xDCM1g

As more people around the world gain access to all the tools of the digital age, the internet will play a greater role in everyday life. And so far, people in emerging and developing nations say that the increasing use of the internet has been a good influence in the realms of education, personal relationships and the economy. But despite all the benefits of these new technologies, on balance people are more likely to say that the internet is a negative rather than a positive influence on morality, and they are divided about its effect on politics.

Users’ Views on Potential Impacts of Open Data and Open Government
http://pewrsr.ch/1Dawis3
People’s views about the possible impact of government data initiatives sort roughly into two categories along the lines of government accountability and government performance. Americans are generally optimistic that open data can improve accountability — directly by encouraging government officials to be more accountable to the public or indirectly by helping journalists do their jobs better. When it comes to metrics of government performance (i.e., whether open data will improve the quality of services), people’s views are decidedly mixed. #opendata
