Nice...

My new bitcoin mining rig / comment on the art business.

It uses four ASICminers controlled by a Raspberry Pi to get up to 1,3 GH/s - more then most GPU miners, who need 20x the power.

And it looks nice too. =)
I don't like works of art that were made for the sole purpose to make money. I think true art always comes from the top end of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and never the bottom. Self preservation (aka making money) can be a la...

Great idea, I have the same ASICMiner + RasPi setup but it's not nearly as cool looking, I might have to do this...

Hey Guys, I have just cut the cable after my content provider hit with totally ridiculous “JUNK” fee.  HD Technology Fee, Really!!!! The cable is out of here! Once I saw that fee posted on my monthly statement, it was gone faster than Patrick dropping an S**T bomb on live TV. I really miss the Screen Saver.  My family and I are now exclusively watching internet only content .i.e. Netflix on the Wii and Pod Casts on Apple TV.
My next investment will be an HTPC. Can you PLEASE do a segment on that? My budget is between $400 and $800. I am also hopping to score some BIG deals on Cyber Monday.
!!!You Guys Rock!!!

Cheers, Brian

Hey, Patrick. Long time listener here (Tech TV days). interested to hear more about your garage project. I'm also running juice, cable and ethernet into my detached garage. Would you start a thread for everyone to discuss? Thanks.

True but it always does "depend", it is just like buying a car. If all you do is goto work and the grocery store around the corner.. do you really need a top of the line Escalade? Or will something else do?

I'm wondering why you have green screen on the floor.  Do you plan to composite in a sandy beach?

Robert's desk monster...

My current desktop (monitor on right in portrait mode) on my primary workstation that I built in the Summer of 2009.  3.5+ years of overclocked goodness - up to 4100MHz (edit: lol) on the ol' i7 920 w/2.66GHz stock clock.  It's Noctua NH-U12P cooler has proven effective and quiet, but the SilverStone FT01B case I selected has one insanely hard to clean fan filter that also happens to be the main/largest one.

Last year, I added a SSD as a primary boot drive and I've swapped graphics cards at regular intervals (usually yearly).  I did have a rear case fan go kaput, and it was removed without being replaced making for an even quieter system.

As a end-of-year treat to myself, I'm awaiting the arrival of this Nvidia GTX680 beast of a card: http://amzn.to/12xylaW  I'll admit that Far Cry 3 made me do it...the desire to run Ultra detail at 19x12 at 60fps is strong!  It's so damn pretty!

I'll add that every PC workstation I have ever owned has been connected to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) that insures a steady jiggle of electrons no matter how crazy the fluctuations are from my utility provider.  UPS's are cheap insurance for your PC gear.  So is an annual dusting of the case...so dirty!
