Great hotel with great restaurants. In a nice residential area. It's a bit pricy, but if you want the Hyatt experience, don't miss this resort!

LOVE the Park Hyatt Aviara. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: parking is valet only and there is no other place to park. But the valets are great. There are free DVDs to watch in your room. If I remember correctly, you can checkout 3 at a time. The game room is amazing: pool tables, table hockey, Playstations and more. The breakfast buffet is expensive but it's the only way you can get their homemade yogurt. The best yogurt anywhere. Valet parking is free if you're not a guest but eating at one of the restaurants. Super comfy beds.

A friend was staying at the Four Seasons next door, which the Hyatt Aviara used to be a Four Seasons and I drove down from Orange County to play golf at Aviara, with 2 other people. I met him at the hotel lobby, and we went to drop off our wives and kids at the pool to grab lunch. No intention of using the pool, just get lunch. Remind you, this was a holiday weekend and looked like they needed the business at the poolside cafe. Both of our wives had massages booked at 4. There was a total of 10 for lunch. A staff member asked us if we were staying at the hotel and we told him no. He told us that we could not eat lunch there. We told him of the massages and golf that we had planned and he said it was ok. We complained to the front desk manager(the GM was out on Sunday), and he apologized. After golf, our wives told us that they were constantly reminding them that since they had spa appointments, they were allowing them to eat lunch, after the front desk manager apologized and said it was ok. After the massages, the wives were relaxing at the spa and the employees told them that the spa closes at 7pm, and this was at 6:30, with the intention of telling them that you have been in here quite awhile. My friend is Hyatt Platinum member and his nanny was staying at a Hyatt, that he personally flew in. I will be sticking with Pelican Hill, where they know how to treat customers that spend $. If I hear of things changing, I will go back, but out of principal, you will not find me down there, after the over $1000 that we spent in a day there and the poor customer service...

No complaints whatsoever! The amenities are 5 star, rooms spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and luxuriously appointed. All employees from reservations, to wait staff to housekeeping were extremely kind, considerate, and accommodating. The grounds are exquisite, food 1st class. Just a wonderful place to stay!

It's really a shame to depths this resort has sunk to. It's good if you want a 'Hyatt experience' I know full well this will sound elitist but this is not a luxurious resort since park Hyatt took over. This is a family vacation with all that entails. Service is provided to the lowest denominator of client. Think Disney cruise rather than resort. If that's what you want go for it. Don't mistake this , though, for luxury, at least not since Four Seasons left. It's really a crime. I used to go there for many years and knew the staff very well. Many switched over to be hired by the new Park Hyatt crew and I can verify based on private conversations. They liken this as a 'Kardashian experience' as compared to their prior working environment of a true cultured guest experience. Then to make matters worse, whereas the feeling of a true resort is that you don't have to think about what you need, it is simply provided and you can relax your mind , as well as your body; this management tries to nickel and dime you to death so that you have to always be in the process of negotiating your entire stay about what service you want. So, if you have 4 toddlers under 6 - this is the place for you!!! For anyone who wants what is only promised here, go to the Grand Del Mar or Pelican Hill that are nearby.

Stellar experience from check-in to check-out. The grounds of the resort are exquisite, and there is an unbelievable view of the ocean from the lobby lounge (especially around sunset). Located in a great spot in North County San Diego - you can get to downtown San Diego, the inland parts of the San Diego, and even up to Orange County for Disneyland, etc. Overall, highly recommended resort/hotel.

What a beautiful hotel! What a peaceful setting with a breathtaking view. The food was fantastic. We live locally however it is a real pleasure to just get away and stay in a luxury hotel without getting on a plane The beds were heavenly, the staff was always there and responsive and the food was awesome. I could not think of a better way to recharge the batteries. I recommend it to anyone who wants the finer things in live and feels like they need a little pampering.
