Ian Mooney: RE: the new 1.5 update.
I did not know how else to send a comment about game features, so I hope this finds you. I am a big fan of your game Stellaris. I think it is an engaging and relevant political simulator. I have always found utopia, especially as it is represented and enacted through sci-fi media, to be a very important part of the American consciousness and our greater political drives. However, i have a serious problem with the new update, philosophically speaking.
I think that the game makes serious political/ethical missteps in the authoritarian/libertarian change. I know that this came after long deliberation and that the community at large has been consistently dissatisfied with the communal/solitary ethical branches. That withstanding though, I think it is a HUGE mistake to characterize authority as expressly evil. One thing I always felt was forward thinking about the game was that it represented Irenic Monarchies and benevolent communist dictatorships as a play possibility and now that's gone. Specifically, spending more on consumer goods pushes a populace towards libertarianism. Why? Why can't a benevolent state entity improve the lives of it's populace without them developing resentment? Why are all of the authority perks xenophobic and slave-related? This makes being an Irenic Monarchy impossible! Why did this get removed when it was (not only my favorite gov't form) but also something so unique to the game! I don't want to be an expressly evil empire! I don't want to foment resistance in my people, I want to be a benevolent ruler who values peace and a higher standard of living, why can't there be a populace that support that? It doesn't make sense and I feel like my favorite way of playing the game was robbed from me. I feel like I wasted money, like ideals that I believed in and was happy to play out were taken away because of the developer's personal politics.

Logan Ray: I am having trouble verifying my account through my email keeps saying broken taking to long, try again later. Its almost been two days and really want to be able to start playing stellaris
