We've helped 367,000 people in the 3 months since Nepal's devastating earthquakes. The people of Nepal still need humanitarian aid, but there will now be an increased focus on providing materials for improved shelters, influencing the wider reconstruction priorities, and beginning to support communities on long-term livelihoods activities. https://www.oxfam.org/en/emergencies/nepal-earthquake

Not far from little six-year-old Yolanda's home in the village of Mpofini in South Africa, 12 families are sharing one polluted spring. They have almost constant diarrhoea. Every 20 seconds, a child dies because of diarrhoea and other diseases caused by dirty water. Those aged under five are the most vulnerable. Here at home diarrhoea would be easily treated, but when it strikes the poorest it can be one of the most deadly diseases on earth.

Every time the children drink from polluted springs, they're not only making themselves sick - they're risking their lives. But thanks to programmes Oxfam is running with our partners in South Africa, Yolanda (6) has outlived this deadly statistic. The simple solution of the 'tippy tap' is helping to save lives.

To help us reach even more children like Yolanda, make a donation here: http://oxf.am/ZPqe SHARE this post to help us spread the word.

Most people would say that reality television isn't necessarily a good place place to look for role models. But in Tanzania, that's exactly the goal of Oxfam's reality show named "Female Food Heroes."
They farm on a set, but the stakes are high. These are the stars of a reality show called "Female Food Heroes," a Tanzanian TV show produced by Oxfam that aims to empower and educate rural women who feed most of the families in the African nation.

I’ve worked with Oxfam Ireland many times over the years and was thrilled when they asked me to support the new Drop and Shop campaign – which is also a great scheme for you to get involved with. I’ve always found Oxfam to be a great organisation to work with on shows and shoots – the staff and volunteers really know their stuff about fashion, both current and vintage, and have a great eye for merchandising. These events are the most fun for me t...

Our Taoiseach has been less than generous-by his recent statements-towards the plight of the Greek people; however, the Irish people-if not the state-have always been generous towards the needy. It would serve us well to reflect on our own history.
Very good article.

Our vision: a just world without poverty. Join us - let's change the world together!
Introduction

One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilising the power of people against poverty.

Around the globe, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them.

In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organisations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.
