Everyone's talking basketball this week. For the first time in years, Catholic dad Scott Warden is not joining the conversation. And he's okay with that: http://osv.cm/1MR7PgY

Pope Francis values the extraordinary. In an unexpected announcement, the Holy Father declared March 13 that the Church will celebrate an extraordinary jubilee Holy Year of Mercy, beginning Dec. 8, 2015, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, and ending Nov. 20, 2016, the feast of Christ the King

St. Joseph: A humble model for all fathers -- Despite playing a critical role in the life of Jesus, St. Joseph is silent in Scripture — but it’s precisely his lack of words that speaks volumes. By John Cavadini

The beautiful prayer of St. Patrick, popularly known as “St. Patrick’s Breast-Plate,” is supposed to have been composed by him in A.D. 433 for divine protection before successfully converting the Irish King Leoghaire and his subjects from paganism to Catholicism. The following is from a literal translation from the old Irish text:  http://osv.cm/18WD253

OSV brings your Catholic Faith to life!
Introduction

Our Sunday Visitor, a Catholic not-for-profit organization, began with the vision of one young Indiana parish priest shortly after the turn of the century. Then-Father John Francis Noll had grown weary of the anti-Catholic literature flooding his people so he began to write a parish bulletin. From his work as a defender of the Faith grew one of the most successful weekly Catholic newspaper -- Our Sunday Visitor.

Today it is home to 300 employees who work for two different divisions --publishing and offertory solutions.

The publishing division is responsible for the writing and promotion of six periodicals, which include: Our Sunday Visitor Newsweekly, Take Out: Family Faith on the Go, The Catholic Answer, The Priest, My Daily Visitor, and Grace In Action. In addition to the periodicals, Our Sunday Visitor publishes and markets over 500 products including books, tapes, software, and education materials.

Our Sunday Visitor is also home to the nation's largest supplier of offering envelope products and services to Catholic parishes throughout the United States, manufacturing over 800 million envelopes annually.

As a not-for-profit company, Our Sunday Visitor serves the Church not only with its products and services, but also by returning all of its net earnings to the Catholic community. Through the Our Sunday Visitor Institute, we fund Catholic projects throughout the United States, particularly those that seek to address religious illiteracy, contribute to the evangelization of the culture, link faith and morality, especially to young people, and explain and promote the dignity of the human person.
