Because Romans were Italians ancestors, and we love everything italian. http://ow.ly/2T7O0W
The gateways of an ancient Roman fort in Britain are roughly aligned with the light from the sun during the summer and winter solstices a design that would have resulted in a striking scene on the shortest and longest days of the year, a researcher says

Orso offers a smaller choice than most Italian restaurants, but that's because every dish is fresh and cooked to the chef's perfection. Everything we ordered was great, and they manage to accommodate our large party with ease - everyone's food came out together. Recommendation: the seafood is a winner.

Ok... Some of the food was not bad. Some Decent starters. Mains were a bit of a let down. Ended up sending my Chicken back for a replacement of the same dish as the first one had piece of plastic under the crumbing. It all felt a bit forced and a little over priced.

Similarly as with Smollensky’s only the entrance is at ground level and you have to go down a small set of stairs to get to the actual restaurant. It was a lot more intimate than we were expecting (and would be great for a romantic pre-theatre meal) but luckily out group had halved in size to just six after a last minute Lunch and Learn was scheduled for the same time. We tucked ourselves away in a corner and chatted away happily amongst ourselves. The staff were attentive but not over bearing and very knowledgable on their menu. The set menu provides excellent value for money at £16.75 for 2-courses and £19.50 for 3. I’m glad that I just went for the small portion as it was more than enough for me. It was delicious too with the flaky white crab meat being full of flavour and there was lots of it as well which was nice to see. I was initally disappointed not to have been offered parmesan cheese with my meal though I think that this was perhaps a good thing as it would have detracted from the lovely flavours. The restaurant also has a lovely policy of allowing you to have your dessert/coffees after the theatre if you so wish which is great as you don’t need to wolf down three courses before heading to the show you are seeing.

Beware !!! the menu and prices shown on their website do not exist. Actually prices are a lot higher and the excuse is that "on the website there is a sample menu." Food was below average, bread was 2 days old. No cheese served with pasta which was pre-coocked. Extremely expensive for what it is and for an underground place with no windows or natural light. Select another restaurant.

I strongly recommend this place. The buffalo mozzarella is the real stuff from Italy. Having only had pizza I couldn't comment on the other dishes but mine was very nice, evidently made with fresh dough cooked in a stone oven. The ingredients are all top quality. The service is excellent and waiters are professionals. The atmosphere in the dining room is very pleasant and classy, with the kind of lighting that is relaxing but not uncomfortably dim which is sadly the norm in lesser restaurants. It's authentic Italian food by London standards and I will go again.

The food was delicious. We got it to go because we were having a romantic dinner at home for V-day but when we got there to pick up the food we were really impressed with the place, from the outside it looks a little sketchy.Overall, we really enjoyed the food, we will definetly be back and the take-out speed is awesome.
