Very cool zoo. It's got the feel of being in a little forest. During the holidays lights are put up. The evening visit is best, the lights will be lit. Any time after 5pm is great for the Christmas lights. Parking cost $ not free but hopefully that goes to the zoo up keep. Would highly recommend this zoo for families. Oh yeah also they have a little train the runs it's $4/ticket very cool.

It has a great variety of rare animals: reptiles, mammals, birds and they have cute, large and comfortable habitants. I guess that if they could speak, they would have been told that this is a luxury resort. The area for elephants is gigantic. Information boards are very attractive and educative. Cafe with the view inside the avian house is nice and comfortable for quick rest-n-snack. Interactions with animals in special hours are so exciting experience! Zoo lights festival is so amazing especially if covered with snow. The Zoo is one of the best places in Portland, Oregon.

Beautiful setting that provides large enclosures for all of its animals and still makes the distances walkable. Fun and educational. Dedicated to the well being of the animals and involved in conservation research. There is a train, a carousel, a picnic area, and play spaces making it very family-friendly. Ample parking at the gate an excellent access to public transportation.

Fantastic zoo. We had a great time and the animal enclosures are significantly larger than most places.

There are quite a few animals here, and while their habitats are designed to keep them happy, visitors can get great views. There are also different places to eat scattered throughout the zoo. Kids are happy to not have to walk far to get a snack.

We went to the Chinese Lantern Festival T Oregon Zoo. Much bigger than I thought it would be. I would recommend to go later in the day, around 7:00 when it is getting dark. The lighting of the lanterns and dragons are really beautiful.

This is one of the best zoos in the country, and their new elephant habitat is excellent. If you are here during the hols, don't miss Zoo Lights, and treat yourself to the train ride. Just be sure to dress warmly.

I would give five stars, except every single time I've been to the zoo the animals are almost never in view. And, I'm very upset they no longer have the lorikeet exhibit. That was my favorite part of the zoo!
