Another day, another company to #switch2osm. This time it's Apple! The new iPhoto uses OpenStreetMap data for much of the world outside the US.

Can you really call it 'switching' if they don't provide the attribution required by the license?
+Jonas Häggqvist Aren't those screenshots from people using the well-known hack that has allowed to switch to OSM tiles in iPhoto?
It doesn't look like pure OSM to me, there is certainly OSM data in it (I recognize little streets no other data provider has mapped yet. But I also notice things that are wrong on their maps, and have never been wrong or even available in OSM (I know my village quite well, I know what I added where).
Dug up an old rendering I had of my home town from the date of Apple's copy:

My only regret is that it's not using the correct coastline from that date, but a newer one.
Great find +Jorge Sanz I checked out my area and the Apple maps had no detail at all. Really shows the power of OSM.
