Freezer full up again for the winter

Last roast from the heifer we took to the butcher last year

The cut is the ‘Eye of the Round’, not a very well known cut apparently but is cooked at high temperature for 40 minutes and left to rest for 15. So its best served rare to medium rare or when the internal temperature reaches 50C.

Deep Fried Courgette Flowers Stuffed with Goats Cheese

3rd & final batch of elderflower cordial

In total I made just over 40 liters of elderflower cordial that has made 80 x 500ml bottles. I’ve used the rind and juice of 48 lemons and 16 oranges. Thanks to Ryan and James with their help picking most of the flowers and especially for the last batch…

Hive attacked by a wild animal

I have a few hives on field beans and went on Sunday to do the weekly inspection to find that something had attacked one of them. I’m guessing a badger by the looks of it as thier 3 middle didgets are thier strongest. But could also be a very brave fox…
