Room and hotel great. Now the buts for a venue of this type charging the premium price I would expect people in bars/restaurants to be able to understand English and know when the bar is open. Only have one bar open that's ok if your not a beer drinker as the only draught beer is in the closed bar (bottle beer isn't any were near as good to the beer monster) we will drink wine but quietly suffer. 2 biscuits in room at these prices 6 I think would be a better number. Bath robes way to small. All in all ok but I've stayed in better for less money about £100 over charged if they get the small details corporate rect then a very good venue for the price. Its a managerial problem staff all very perlite and do as they're told, the management need to have a rethink this place could be one of the best.

I do not consider the practice of asking to "Swipe your card" to cover any spending and then allocating £50.00 without mentioning any amount is the sort of practice I would expect from a venue of this type. After complaining I was informed they had informed my bank to release the funds but my bank has had no such communication from them. After nearly a week theare still holding the allocation even though I had checked out with nothing extra to pay. My feeling is they dont trust their clients and are unconcerned as to what happens to their clients at the expence of making sure you dont run away without paying Very disapointed and a warning to those that have or are thinking of booking

We went for afternoon tea in the library, which provided a very nice setting. The staff were friendly and efficient. The tea itself was ok, the finger sandwiches were fresh, but the scones, (usually the highlight of such an occasion), were disappointly small, they could best be described as minature, button-size, one-bite size. The small cakes were full of too much cream, and whilst I like cream I didn't want almost every cake filled or topped with it - after all we had clotted cream with the scones! A piece of lemon drizzle cake, or a slice of fruit cake, or a home-made bakewell tart would have been, in my view, preferable. For £20 a head a bit more attention to detail on the composition of the tea would not go amiss to ensure that it represents value for money.
