The news is true, you're not still dreaming. The NHL and NHLPA have agreed to the framework of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement:

The deal is not final or ratified yet, but the sides did agree in principle. The League did not announce the start date of the season or the number of games each team will play. Those details will be announced soon.
