For our tiny 501 in a town of 50,000, it's been really tough these past two years. This year I've overloaded myself with marketing tips on every social media avenue to a point of confusion. I still maintain after all these years believing so, it's all in your board.

How do you obtain an EIN (also referred to as an FEIN) for your business? Is it worth doing it yourself and dealing with the IRS?

Important for small business owners to be
How do you get a Federal Tax ID Number for your business?

An EIN (or FEIN) is like a social security number for your business, and can be obtained through our old friend, the IRS.

A federal tax ID number is necessary to establish separation of your company and yourself. If you’re operating a business and don’t have one, you’ll be asked for your social security number quite often. If you’re going to have employees, you’ll have to obtain a tax ID number to make your reporting requirements with the IRS for withholding, Medicare, and social security.

When big business goes belly-up...what would YOU do to stop the bleeding?

When is the last time you shopped at one of these big department/big box stores as opposed to simply using the convenience of Amazon?
Closing more and more stores....will that turn these companies around? How are they supposed to keep up with the times?

On the same day that Sears announced plans to sell its iconic Craftsman brand of tools to Stanley Black & Decker, the struggling retailer also said it will be closing 150 more Sears and Kmart stores.

Poor service for the money, and terrible cancelation policy. They won't refund even if they didn't provide the service at all. Think twice before you send them your money.
Response from the owner - in the last week
Hi David! If you could call us at 509-768-2249 or email us, we would really appreciate it! We offer the easiest cancellation policy in the industry. There’s a button right next to every invoice where you could either pay for a service or cancel it. We also always refund money as well. Maybe there’s some confusion? If so, we would love to help clear it up! Thanks!

I used Northwest to set up my Wyoming LLC and to provide registered agent services to keep my new entity in good standing on an annual basis. I recommend them without reservation. I've registered LLC's before, and knew a little bit about the process before contacting Northwest. They exceeded my expectations. I don't do business unless I deal with a real person, and the service I got from Northwest was personalized and pleasant. I had about a dozen questions, a few of them stupid ones, all of which were answered promptly and thoroughly. I know more about entities now than I did before engaging Northwest. Northwest took the time to make sure I understood my options. It was competitively priced and I got more than I paid for. I'll be going to Northwest for any future entities I need to have set up. I consider them my "LLC guys" now. One less thing for me to worry about.

I was very happy until it came to getting my EIN. It has been over two weeks and they don't know how long it will take. I went to the IRS website and it said it should be something that happens immediately. I wouldn't pay for the rush LLC documents if you need a EIN at the same time.
Response from the owner - 11 months ago
Hi Christopher. Thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback. I'll have accounting issue a refund for the $50 EIN service since you weren't happy with that. I'd like to point out a couple things. You ordered an LLC on 1-21-2016. We provided you the filed LLC paperwork on 1-22-2016. Next day. Also provided the initial resolutions, operating agreement, and membership certificates all basically in less than 24 hours. So your LLC was formed super fast like we always do. You placed an order at 11:12 AM, and next day had a completed LLC. I'm pretty proud of that turnaround. Now the EIN... To get an EIN, we have to ask you some pretty private information like Social Security Numbers, and we like to ask that inside your online account. We can't get the EIN until you submit that information to us. We ask for it when you log in and you logged in and didn't submit the information. It seems like we need to make that more obvious. If we would have had the needed information, we would have also gotten your EIN done 1-22-2016. We're going to be looking at how we could redesign the login experience and provide more notifications about the overall status of an order. Maybe even a couple reminder emails specific to EINs explaining that we're waiting on information from the client. So maybe when you look at the LLC docs, we bug you more about getting the rest of the information we need from you. We'll have to balance that act without being too annoying. Thank you for the opportunity to help you start your business and the chance to get some feedback on how we could do our job better.
