Join us at our first annual Go Global with NIC Information Fair
Thursday, November 23, 1-2:30 pm
Trades Building Foyer, NIC’s Comox Valley campus
Learn about opportunities to work and study abroad with NIC in 2018. There will be prizes available to attendees, including ten NIC bookstore gift certificates valued at $25 each.
Experience NIC’s global culture and learn about opportunities for employees to take part in Leave for Change in Tanzania, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and beyond, and for students to study
abroad in Greece, Bosnia, the Philippines and more.
Discover the winner of this year’s Go Global with NIC photography contest. The winning entry will receive $1,000 toward a study abroad experience (or a $500 tuition credit). There will be prizes for runners up as well. Entries will be on display at three campuses from November 20-24; in the Tyee Lounge of NIC’s Comox Valley campus, the library at NIC’s Campbell River campus and at the front entrance at NIC’s Port Alberni campus.

Experience another culture and make a difference in the life of an NIC international student by hosting a peerstay student in your home.
Peerstay students arrive in late December 2017. They buy their own groceries and cook their own meals.
Peerstay hosts provide a furnished room, WiFi and laundry facitlities in a residence located near NIC's Comox Valley campus or on a major bus route. For more information email accommodations@nic.bc.ca

Congratulations to NIC Elder in Residence Evelyn Voyageur (Third from the left in the below Canadian Geographic photo). We are extremely proud of her influence on NIC's community and beyond. She is being recognized with an Indspire Award for promoting Indigenous health in a number of capacities, most recently as B.C. representative for the Aboriginal Nurses Association and as a member of the board of St. Joseph's Hospital. Evelyn has received many awards for her contribution to Aboriginal nursing, including becoming one of Health Canada’s First Nation and Inuit Branch’s first recipients of the Award of Excellence in Nursing. #IamNIC #NICSuccessStories

Students can win up to $1,000 toward an NIC study abroad experience by entering the International Education Week photography contest, Go Global with NIC.
Contest entries should incorporate an international or global element and should demonstrate how internationalization abroad, in-community or on campus cultivates curiosity, respect and tolerance for difference.
