I enjoyed this video, especially its praises of Flipnote Studio, especially since I'm a big fan of it myself. However, there was one thing that was, frankly, frustratingly inaccurate. You state casually that Flipnote Gallery: World (the online service, similar to Flipnote Hatena) was not included because of "lewd individuals sending out graphic animations that could be publicly accessed." This is completely inaccurate.
Flipnote Gallery: Friends was removed from the Japanese version of Flipnote Studio 3D back when Swapnote's spotpass features were removed. But these animations could NOT be accessed publicly. They were sent directly to friends, almost exactly like Swapnote. They weren't worried about kids coming across bad stuff. They were worried about people sending bad stuff directly to kids, in a totally unmoderated, private manner. Flipnote Gallery: World, on the other hand, would be a moderated service, more similar to Miiverse than Swapnote. People could post "graphic" stuff, sure, but then they'd get reported and banned.
The worst part is, Flipnote Gallery: World is still alive and well in the Japanese version of FS3D. Why would Nintendo offer that service in Japan if their reasoning for not including in in the West is as you described it? It doesn't make any sense.
The only possible reason for Nintendo not including Flipnote Gallery: World in the EU/NA release of FS3D is that they don't think it would be worth it to moderate and maintain the service. Any other explanation isn't supported by the facts.
So Alex, thanks for this video, but please don't make these ridiculous assumptions about why we're not getting Flipnote Gallery: World. It's a rumor with no credible sources to back it up. (Unless you have some legit source you're getting this from?)
