Code improvement of the day: MIDI import got 10x faster! Great work by former +Google Summer of Code student Andrey Tokarev. Coming to you in the next MuseScore release. https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/815

Some MuseScore users are capable of building the coming MuseScore 2.0 themselves. For those who can't or don't feel adventurous to check out the nightly build, check out this video of an enthusiastic user.

+Ruggero Dambra musico Hello Ruggero Dambra musico! It certainly was the time of counterpoint- absolutely! What I'm trying to achieve with the tutorial is something like a "compose by numbers" - it's not how Monteverdi would have composed, but by following the steps you can make something which resembles the style (and of course will be vastly inferior!) By using the harmonic approach I hope to make the task a bit easier to achieve by most budding composers, who will generally have some background in harmony. Counterpoint is amazing but I personally couldn't give a one page tutorial on how to do this from a contrapuntal perspective - please let me know if you know of any tutorials which do, as I'd love to read them!
