The end result was that Motorola’s changeover to digital took much longer than it needed to. The company lost the industry leadership that it had invented in 1973 for a rookie, Nokia, and, today, it is only a brand purchased by China's Lenovo. Sony, another giant of the analogue, lost market share due to its preference for the analogue.

"Readers outside Japan might see his work as deeply Japanese, yet to the Japanese literary establishment he is anything but; his fiction occupies a cultural space of its own. It takes place in a world of profound aloneness where hope nevertheless resides in the possibility of love. Each individual’s existence as an autonomous being must constantly be re-affirmed through the story one tells oneself, and the greatest danger is the possibility of losing one’s personal narrative and becoming completely empty inside."

How many of us truly want positive changes to happen around us – but still want to leave our own little worlds intact? How many of us really want our familiar, comforting routines replaced with radical changes in our ingrained habits, established relationships, hard-earned skills, fundamental attitudes, and treasured beliefs? Even when truly reinventing ourselves or our organization requires such changes? And even if we were willing to do that, how many of us would know where to start?
